The Greenville Board of Adjustment met on July 25, 2019, to consider several special use permit requests. The agenda included a withdrawal of a previous request, and public hearings on a fraternity/sorority house, a cosmetic tattooing business, a home-based beauty salon, a drop-in child care center, and a private convention center. The board voted on each item following extensive discussion, testimony, and staff recommendations. All votes were recorded, with the fraternity/sorority house application receiving the most debate.
All decisions were based on evidence presented during the quasi-judicial hearings, with the board acting as a quasi-judicial body.

Mr. Chairman, good evening. The voting members for tonight's meeting are Mr. Johnson, Mr. Glenn, Mr. Bullock, Ms. Bellis, Mr. McKinnon, Mr. Willie, and Mr. Moretz. Ms. Evans, Mr. Cohen, and Mr. Godley are not voting members but are allowed to participate in the discussions and are allowed to ask questions. All right, thank you. So second. Second. Meetings, uh minutes are approved. Okay. Tonight we have some old business. The first one. Good evening. Again. As stated on pages two and three of the meeting handout available to the public. The evidence to be considered by the Board of Adjustment is as follows. The Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial body that makes a decision concerning an application, petition, or appeal based on the evidence presented by those in favor as well as those in opposition. The members of the Board of Adjustment are laypersons, and as such, the rules of evidence that are followed in a court are relaxed for cases heard before this body.
