So we're going to begin this evening with proclamations and presentations. And we have a special proclamation presentation regarding Tom Menidis and recognition of him. Oh, we're waiting for this. So tonight we're going to honor a Half Moon Bay and Coastside legend, Tom the Greek menitis, who passed away last week. Tom the Greek Menitus was born in Chicago, Illinois, on April 20th, 1940, and moved to California with his family at age eleven. By 16, Tom worked in local produce departments, including Broadway Market and QFI Market. Both children, as well as his granddaughters Athena and Tiana, followed in his footsteps, working at Tom and Pete's produce from a young age. He was a devoted family man, a beloved community figure, and to give the shirt off his back kind of guy who helped countless people. He enjoyed working and visiting with his customers and friends, loved gambling at the casino, and playing poker with his friends, and had a passion for classic cars. Tom's legacy of love, hard work, and generosity will live on through his family and the lives he touched. And I think we owe a lot of respect to them for building the community that we love so much. So we want to welcome the new and welcome visitors, but we also want to respect the community and the people who built Half Moon Bay to make the place it is.
