I think I can shed some light on your uh your question.

Um if I remember correctly, Commissioner Rems at our last meeting back in December, had expressed his interest in matching up his real world experience with the the task of the subcommittee.

And in a in a private conversation I had with uh Commissioner Del Negro around the same time.

Uh he was enthusiastic about doing the same.

Yeah, I remember him saying that he was interested.

So that's the two that I heard.

I strongly support both of those folks taking that on.

It's important work.

So do we need to have a vote on that?

I don't think we do, right?

Well, it feels like we should officially name them to it.

Is there something you want to tell us?

Yeah, I need to report out a couple things.

Um I need to report out permits that were issued.

Um, and there aren't a lot since October 28th.

Uh, there's tree removal permit at 209 Grinnelli Avenue, and then there was a director's hearing and approval of a coastal development permit um at 704 Monte Vista.

Um, and I think I forgot to put in the second address.

There's oh N 700 Monte Vista.

Um, so that is on one property the conversion of the former school into uh two single family dwellings and two ADUs uh that are new on that property, and then on the other property, it's a new single-family dwelling in an ADU.

So those were approved, and um uh there was also the approval of the phasing agreement for 17 allocations for measure D.

And then I also wanted to mention um in case you get phone calls, there um there is another project that is subject to Governor Newsom's proclaimed state of emergency act to um clear vegetation for wildfires.

That project is on Terrace Avenue.

Um, see if I wrote, yeah.

So it's behind 694 Terrace Avenue and 698 Terrace Avenue.

The homeowners there applied for and received uh permission for this.

They're gonna take out three Eucalyptus trees.

There will be cranes operating.

It's a it's gonna be a pretty major undertaking.

Um so you may hear about that.

It's it's not a project that the city has jurisdiction over at this point, but those trees will be removed.

Do you want to just give a brief update on uh highway one and what's gonna be happening in the next month or so?

Uh for highway for highway One, we we are not gonna make the sixty-day.

I think it was 60 days that you asked us to come back.

Um, but we will be coming back in the next two months with uh the biological assessment and geology report um updates on those.

I meant the Caltrans repaving.

Is that happening in this next month?

Oh, I'm sorry.

Um the Caltrans repaving project.

I'm actually not sure what the status of that is.

I know that it was delayed several times, but we have Matthew here, so um, let me just ask him if he doesn't mind making an update.

Uh, council or geez, I'm used to talking to the council here.

So um currently on the Highway One project, they're working on uh the accessibility features, so like the truncated domes at the majority of the crossings.

They expect to be done with that in short order, hopefully within the next couple weeks.

Obviously, that's weather dependent, but we're hopeful that it will within the next couple of months.

They want to get the majority of the work done before um spring break.

At least that's what I've been briefed on, so hopefully they get a lot of it done.

Obviously, it's going to be a long project, but they they want to focus on especially around um the Kelly and Highway One intersection.

They want to get a lot of that done before before spring break, and whatever they don't get done, they'll finish that up in the summertime.

So, is that why the concrete bollards on and blocks are up along poplar and magnolia?

That is correct.

They're part of that work they they put that those up as temporary barricades for the safety of the workers that are doing the the work in the intersections.

I think um just doing my windshield surveys that the majority of that concrete work has been done.

They're probably just waiting to for it to cures and they can go in there and strip the forms and and get out of there, but I don't know exactly how long they'll leave those barricades up.

They're they're all throughout town.

Obviously, we've seen them seen them everywhere.

So hopefully they get those ISOs out of there sooner rather than later.

But uh I kind of err on the side of safety with those, and we just want to make sure that their workers are staying safe.
