Now I'm going to take a point of privilege and introduce our new member to the City of Hampton Planning Commission.

City Council member, the Honorable Martha Muggler.

So would you like to say anything or you have the floor?

Yeah, I'm very happy to be joining the commission.

I've been on council for two years and have thought that the opportunity to serve on this commission would give me a deeper knowledge and understanding of the process as we bring developments and things of that nature before the council.

So I'm really looking forward to the work that we do on this commission and working forward, looking forward to working with this particular commission.

We're looking forward to working with you and learning some things from you as well, as we found out in our planning planning meeting prior to this.

But now we have the public hearing items, and I'll turn it over to Director Michael.

The Planning Commission of the City of Hampton takes pride in being fair and courteous to all parties in attendance.

It is important that all involved understand how the commission conducts its hearings and how all persons before the commission should conduct themselves.

Individuals other than the applicant or their representative who have signed up to comment on the case will have three minutes to present their comments.

All comments must be directed to the commission.

No person may address the commission unless he or she is called by the chair.

Speakers must remain at the podium or microphone while addressing the commission.

Speakers who have signed up may not donate their time to other speakers.

And please note that unless otherwise stated, the actions taken by the commission today are in the form of a recommendation to the Hampton City Council.

The final decision to approve or disapprove an application will be made by the City Council at a future date.

The first public hearing item is community plan amendment number 25-0102 by the City of Hampton to consider an amendment to the Hampton Community Plan 2006 as amended to update the future land use map for certain parcels known as 183 East Mercury Boulevard, 183A East Mercury Boulevard Boulevard, 261 Woodland Road, 265 Woodland Road, 303 Woodland Road, and 305 Woodland Road.

LRSNs 12003432, 1200 3433, 12003435, 12003434, 12003429, and 12003430.

The proposed amendment would change the land use designation for the specified parcels referenced above from low density residential to high density residential land use for this particular item.

Staff is recommending deferral to May as we continue to work on analyzing the proposed amendment against relevant city policies, current development trends, and community feedback to ensure that thorough analysis is achieved.
