The Planning and Development Board of Hollywood, Florida met on January 14, 2025, at 6:00 PM (local time) in City Hall. The project required no variances. Board members praised the design, solar panels, and public art. Concerns about traffic near the adjacent school were addressed by the applicant and staff: a no-left-turn restriction into the school, access to Johnson Street as an additional exit, and a maintenance of traffic plan during construction. The board approved design and site plan with a condition that tandem parking spaces be clearly assigned to one unit.

Our first planning and development meeting of the new year, 2025, and this is the January 14th, 2025 planning and development meeting. We always start our uh meetings with the Pledge of Allegiance, so I'm gonna ask you to please rise. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Thank you may be seated. Uh we are going to ask for approval of the previous board meeting minutes from the December meeting. Is anyone had a opportunity to remove it? Second. We're moving forward. Um how about some city attorney announcements and happy and healthy new year to you. Happy New Year. Yes, I'll uh read the uh quasi-judicial proceedings. Florida courts have determined that there are certain types of matters, including items one, two, and three, which are all items on today's agenda, which are to be treated differently than other issues considered by the board. Most decisions of the board are legislative in nature, which means that the board is acting as a policy making body. In contrast, in quasi-judicial matters, the board is applying existing rules and policies to a particular factual situation and is therefore acting like a judge or jury in a courtroom. In such cases, the courts have decided that due process and fundamental fairness requires that more formal procedures be followed. Therefore, in quasi-judicial matters, all witnesses are sworn in and subject to cross-examination by the parties. So Madam Chair. Thank you.
