The Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Board met on June 3, 2026, at City Hall. Staff detailed a decade-long effort to obtain FDOT approval to place trees at the curb edge instead of the back of the sidewalk, noting that speed limit reductions in May 2025 finally allowed this. Board members expressed strong support for the vision but also frustration over the lengthy timeline and cumulative costs. Board member Hernandez stated that over $350,000 may have been spent on design and negotiations to date. The Board requested a conceptual design update, including tree species and locations, within approximately two months and directed that public meetings and FDOT coordination occur before finalizing concepts. The resolution passed unanimously.
- Item 7 – Beach Security Bollards Project: The Board approved a Phase II construction services agreement with Lebolo Construction Management, Inc. for $2,207,717, including $426,715 for direct purchase of materials and up to $110,000 for permit fees. The project covers installation of security bollards along the beach CRA. The item passed unanimously without discussion.

Executive Director Storey presented the monthly update on beach and downtown activities. Key points:
- Three street-end improvements on the beach are nearly complete; two are finished and a third is close.
- The CMED team is hosting a City Spotlight event with the Miami Association of Realtors, featuring a downtown tour and panel discussion, now sold out.
- The Realtors Association received a grant to bring a large "Hollywood" letters sign to the city; staff is exploring location options.

- Arts Park Sculpture Pedestals: Chair Levy requested a one-sheet with dimensions and parameters for potential sculpture donors, to be shared with the Art and Culture Center and sister cities.
- Upcoming Events: A reggae concert (Easy Star All-Stars) on Saturday, June 6, from 7-11 PM at Arts Park, and the Dream Car Classic on Sunday, June 7, were promoted.

All right, welcome everyone. Good morning. Today is June third, twenty twenty-six. We are here at Hollywood City Hall for a community redevelopment agency meeting. Let's go ahead to the regular agenda. First item number five is a resolution of the CRA authorizing the CRA to execute a fourth amendment to renew the license agreement with MVHF LLC and the City of Hollywood for five years with an option to renew under the same terms and conditions for the property identified as the Johnson Street parcel. This, of course, is to support the strategic plan focused area of economic vitality, specifically here on Hollywood Beach. All right. Looks like Eduardo is here for any questions, but otherwise, I'll recognize uh board member for perhaps a motion uh or discussion. I'll make a motion. Board member Beterman. Um let's go and thank you for the great work that Margarita does does with the music and uh you know five nights a week. I think we might be probably the only city in the country that has this level of music, this consistency uh with such a show five nights a week, free to the public in a public uh square. Uh it really is something to be proud of. I know the Commissioner Hernandez had proposed some time ago, and we really didn't uh hear back uh city manager, um the idea of broadcasting the 7 to 9 p.m. shows um with sound on YouTube uh and having more of a a fixed camera angle as opposed to the zoom in zoom out. Um and even if there are issues of recording and broadcasting, if the band signs a waiver and are okay with it and we can work out the legal you know signature that's needed. I mean, I think the point was that we really help to elevate our YouTube channel and would be great. So just a reminder while Eduardo is here and we're all here. Uh any comment. Well, Mayor, I I believe the issue wasn't just the the permission of the actual performers, but typically they are performing music that was written and uh copyrighted by other groups.
