Meeting Transcript
History at Parkland Road in Columbia. It starts at 10 30. Lanna Beach will be the sixth nominee to present, and that agenda will be out on their website November the 1st. And again, I'll send you guys an email. Um, you know, about the agenda, and if I guess if you want to attend, uh they can attend, can't they? Yeah. Um if y'all encourage you guys to but it'll be November the 15th. Yeah, it's definitely November the 15th, and it starts at 10:30, but just like I said, it we are number six, so if you don't make it at 10:30, you should be you should be fine. Okay. Um yeah. Yep. Okay. So that was some good news. All right. Um last thing, our next meeting is October the 28th, and we should have um quite few members that be showing up that time. So we should have a full member. We should, and I appreciate y'all for showing up and thank you all for that. Can I ask a question? Our meeting is always the fourth Monday of the month, right? Yes. Yes, so if it were a month has five Mondays, we're still meeting on the fourth. And then the last Monday, it's the fourth Monday. Okay. Yep, yes, sir. And I have made that mistake before too, because I was thinking in my head it was the last Monday of the month. I was talking about this today, and I like rush down here at the last minute. That's easy to do. So I I think that's pretty much about it. Does anybody have any anything we want to discuss here while we're here? Um peeps to be on our board. Yes, it's in the motion. The council gonna appointing new commissioners soon, so they've house some nominees, it's it has to go to the council meeting. I have a suggestion. Put your mic on, Bill. So I have a suggestion that as we get new board members, I think they ought to attend a few meetings as guests before they get approved so that we get to meet people that are gonna be on this board because I've been on this board a long time, and every once in a while, somebody sneaks through the cracks that's really not on here to do what we do. They just think that oh, I'm on a board. Anyway, I was gonna say, Bill, in regards to that, if it's okay, I'm gonna um put a word out to members of Ory County Historical Society that there are some vacancies if they are interested, because that's a group that naturally likes history and has you know love for it. And has a value on industry, and then let them apply if they want to, but just make them aware of it, basically. Please, if you would, that would be great. Yeah, that might help. Yes. And then you get dedicated people, right? Usually. So I would like to add ask some questions about it. Jamie, you gotta put your mic on, please. I'm glad you're here directly. Um I would like to just ask some questions, uh, not really of any formal nature, but just for basic information, the or or a Georgetown tech marker. Um, I know that it's here. Uh where are we as far as installing that? So the USD people said they're gonna reach out to their boat university board and then give us a date.
