The Horry County Council held its regular meeting on September 16, 2025, at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers. Chairman Johnny Gardner called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by Councilmember Dennis DiSabato, and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Councilmember Cam Crawford. No members of the public signed up for public input. The agenda contents, minutes from the September 2, 2025 regular meeting, and the consent agenda (comprising multiple ordinances, resolutions, and appointments) were approved unanimously by acclimation.
Councilmembers read the names of individuals to be honored: Walden Graham, Travis Dudley, Parmer Lee Skipper, Ralph Ford, Edward "Shorty" Bryant, James Wilson, Jimmy Webb III, Michael Lynn Stevens, Rebecca K. Cox, Anna R. Bullock, and Al Jordan. The meeting was adjourned in their memory.

Moving right along to this is becoming our favorite part of the night. We do these uh recognition of the employees that have been here for at least 30 years or more. This is a testament to how great Ory County is to work, and to the people that have been here for 30 years. So we will so tonight we are celebrating Miss Cheryl Williams. She has been with us for 30 years, all of which is in our register of deeds office. But on top of that, she also leads our phone banks during storm events and is active co-worker for our budget registrations office. She has a wealth of knowledge and array of sunshine. And we appreciate you so much. And I'm making her promise to stay until I reach 30 years. She hasn't agreed yet, but I'm working on her.
