The Horry County Council met on June 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers. The meeting included approval of the consent agenda, a presentation recognizing Amateur Radio Days, a community benefit fund allocation, and several ordinance readings. Public comment was heard on one ordinance regarding the repeal of the road maintenance fee allocation for mass transit. The council approved most items, deferred one ordinance, and passed one with a dissenting vote.

We'll move on to presentations and resolutions. And this is one I've been looking forward to all week. Is resolution R 80-2026 recognizing June 27th through the 28th as amateur radio days. Um, this resolution designates June 27th to 28th is amateur radio days in Ori County. Um they serve an important role in emergency communications disaster response, weather monitoring and community activities. This resolution also recognizes their annual amateur radio field day exercise, which demonstrates the ability of volunteer operators to provide self-sustaining communications when traditional systems are unavailable. Approval of this resolution recognizes valuable service of these volunteers provided to the community throughout the year. Thank you, sir. We really appreciate them.
