Hello everyone, I'm Councilwoman Theresa Mari. An American flag represents our freedom, our history, and the sacrifices made by so many brave men and women on our behalf. When a flag becomes worn or tattered, it deserves to be retired with dignity. The U.S. Flag Disposal Bin Project has been created to have a repository for old, worn U.S. flags. Flags that are placed in these bins are collected and later destroyed in a respectful manner. The Town of Huntington has partnered with the U.S. Marine Corps League to provide U.S. flag disposal bins right here in the lobby of Huntington Town Hall at 100 Main Street in Huntington. Simply bring your old or worn American flags and place them in the bin. They will be collected and respectfully retired. Let's honor our flag today and always, and God bless America.
