Huntington Beach Planning Commission Meeting - July 10, 2018
The Huntington Beach Planning Commission convened on July 10, 2018, at 7:00 PM in Council Chambers. The July 24 Planning Commission meeting likely will be canceled due to no items, and a public hearing is expected in early August.
- Commissioner Comments: Chair Scandura acknowledged the Commissioners' preparation for the Sea Dance item, affirmed the importance of public comments, and announced the arrival of new Community Development Director Ursula Luna Reynosa, commending outgoing Interim Director Jane James and staff for maintaining a well-run department.

I would like to go ahead and call the July 10th, 2018 Planning Commission meeting to order. And with that, staff do we have uh roll call commissioner Crow. Here. Commissioner Ray. Here. Commissioner Vice Chair Garcia. Here. Chair Scandura. Here. Commissioner Kelmick. Here. Commissioner Mandick. Here. Commissioner Grant. Here. We have a quorum. Okay. I realize I went a little bit out of order. Usually we do the Pledge of Allegiance first, and we'll go ahead and do that right now to be led by Commissioner Crow. Please join us in the flag salute. Pledge of allegiance. Okay. Thank you, Commissioner Crow. And a couple of things. First of all, welcome to tonight's Planning Commission meeting. The request to speak forms, late communications and the agenda are located on the table at the entrance of these chambers. If you wish to speak during the public comments or a public hearing item, please complete a request to speak form and give it to the Secretary in front of the dais. For comments on a public hearing item, please speak when the item comes up on the agenda so that your comments become part of the entitlement record. All other comments may be given during public comments at the beginning of this meeting. And when the Secretary calls your name, please come to the bottom of the stairs and wait your turn to speak. When it is your turn, approach the open podium and wait for the speaker in the other podium to finish. At the beginning of your comments, please state your name for the record and then return to your seat after you finish speaking. While the Planning Commission welcomes public involvement and free speech, it rejects comments from anyone that are discriminatory, defamatory, or otherwise not protected speech. These comments will not inform nor be considered by the planning commission and may cause the chair to interrupt the public speaker. Such comments will not be consented to or otherwise adopted by the planning commission as discussions and findings for any matter tonight. And then finally, and as a courtesy to everyone here, please silence your cell phones and other electronic devices. Okay. Our next item is uh agenda approval, and I do understand there is a request and uh planning manager if you can provide that uh request. Um we would just suggest that the commission move item 18-161, which is the proposed C dance residential project, up to the first item on the agenda for so that we can give you a quick report. Okay.
