Okay, so welcome to the January 25th, 2022 Huntington Beach Planning Commission meeting.

On March 4th, 2020, Governor Newsom proclaimed a state of emergency in California as a result of the threat of COVID-19.

On March 17th, 2020, Governor Newsom issued executive order N-29-20, which allows a local legislative body to hold public meetings via teleconferencing and to make public meetings accessible telephonically or otherwise electronically to all members of the public seeking to observe and to address the local legislative body.

Pursuant to the executive order, please be advised that the legislative body.

Sorry, please be advised that some members of the planning commission and city staff are participating in this meeting telephonically or electronically.

While the city cannot provide an in-person location for the meeting at this time, property owners, residents, and any interested parties can view the meeting live on HBTV Channel 3 or via live stream on the city's website.

Interested parties, please go on mute.

Interested parties also had the opportunity to submit comments on any items prior to the meeting.

Staff will identify any public comments received at the appropriate time on the agenda.

While the planning commission welcomes public involvement and free speech, it rejects comments from anyone that are discriminatory, defamatory, or otherwise not protected speech.

These comments will not inform or be considered by the planning commission and maybe cause for the chair to interrupt the speaker.

Such comments will not be consented to or otherwise adopted by the planning commission in discussions and findings for any matter tonight.

So now is the time for public comments for items that are not on the agenda for this evening.

Okay, so now we would normally go into public hearing items.

We don't have any public hearing items tonight.

So the next thing on the agenda would be the consent calendar.

We also do not have anything for the consent calendar of this evening.

And then the next item on the agenda would be non-public hearing items, and we also do not have anything for uh that portion of the agenda either.

So we will go into planning items.

We have two items under planning items.

The first of which is the discussion on the 2022 planning commission advisory boards and committee assignments.

And I assume there is no staff presentation on this one, correct?

Correct.

Okay.

So I've I've talked to each of the commissioners to uh uh determine their availability for supporting the various committees and boards, and there are uh six different um meetings that uh we normally assign uh planning commissioners to.

So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to read the advisory board or the and committee, and then I'll read the PC member that's assigned to that, and then the alternate.

And then uh after that, we'll if necessary, we'll have a discussion to make sure that uh this works for everyone, and uh then we'll move on.

So the first item that we have is the design review board, and the PC member that I have assigned as the primary for that would be Vice Chair Acasta Galvan, and the PC alternate is Commissioner Rodriguez.

Then we have liaison position for the uh environmental and sustainability board.
