And um City Council, I wonder I wanted to recognize Blair.

Blair is one of my employees in the uh prosecutor and city attorney's office.

And I'm gonna let um Trade Riley take care of the but here's the reason we uh I'm nominating her.

So a few years ago, Blair came to me and was asking me about our officers' uh court schedule.

And of course, that's something we have struggled with for a number of years.

And in with that respect, um, we had many officers who would have an appearance court sometimes twice a day, multiple times in the week.

And it's just the way the schedule was done at that time.

Certainly with cooperation of the municipal court, we were going to be able to fix this, but she had uh an idea of something she had experienced.

And and bear in mind one thing I forgot to tell you was when these officers having to come to court multiple times a week, or for instance, uh twice in the same day, morning and afternoon.

If you work third shift and you work the night before and you're in court all day, it really makes it hard on you to spend time with your family and be ready for work that night.

So as we got together, she long story short, to a lot of meetings.

Huntsville City Council Regular Meeting – February 22, 2024

The Huntsville City Council met on February 22, 2024, at 5:30 PM in the City Council Chambers for a regular meeting. All councilmembers were present except Jennie Robinson (ill).
