Johns Creek City Council Meeting – May 11, 2026
The Johns Creek City Council met on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 7:16 p.m. at City Hall (11360 Lakefield Drive). The meeting was called to order by Mayor Bradbury, with all council members present except Councilmember Coughlin. The council approved routine items, heard public comments from supporters of the North Atlanta Cricket Academy (NACA) and from Girl Scouts dedicating a new monument, and awarded a construction contract for an overflow parking lot at Cauley Creek Park.

Public Comments & Testimony

- Julie Todd (Girl Scout Troop Leader) and four Girl Scouts (Leah Todd, Madeline Pittman, Jane Amstead, Elizabeth Pisek): Announced the dedication of a bronze Military Working Dogs Monument at Johns Creek Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 10 a.m. They described their four-year project to honor service dogs and invited the council to attend.

- Overflow Parking Lot at Cauley Creek Park: Assistant City Manager Haggard presented the construction bid of $435,030 with a 10% contingency from Backbone Infrastructure, LLC for an 87-space paved parking lot near the pickleball courts to address parking demand and support future programming at the park and makerspace. Council discussed the location (between the courts and the old water treatment plant) and the decision to pave rather than use gravel. After clarifying that the motion was for full paving, council members expressed support, noting the long-term maintenance benefits and the need for parking. The motion was made and seconded.

And uh I just want to call this meeting to order of the Johns Creek City Council this May 11th. And I know that we are running behind schedule for 7.16 p.m. Thank you, Mayor. At this time, I'll call roll. Okay. Councilmember Chunky? Here. Councilmember Skinner. Here. Councilmember Aramelli. President. Councilmember Coughlin is not present this evening. Councilmember D.Biassi? Here. Councilmember Elwood. Here. Thank you. We have a quorum. Okay. At this time, I'd like to invite our Girl Scouts to come forward and lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. If you'll come forward, girls. The flag is on the back wall. If everyone will please stand. You'll be there on that side of the podium with the microphone and face the flag. Come on. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and which it stands one nation, an under God, an indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Thank you, ladies. Thank you. It's time for Mayor's opening remarks. Yeah. So uh hope everyone had a great weekend. Hope uh all the mothers out there had a great Mother's Day weekend. Uh a lot going on in Johns Creek over the weekend. On Friday night, we had our uh first ever concert here at the boardwalk, and hope you got to take part in that. That was a lot of fun, and I think by all accounts uh everyone seemed to have a good time. And uh also on Saturday we had the uh Johns Creek beautifications uh secret garden tour, and that was very well attended. I think they raised a bunch of money for beautifying the city. I want to thank all of the organizers, the homes that were part of the tour, and just all the volunteers. And I want to tell you about a couple of things that are coming up. We've got Touch a Truck that's coming up this Saturday, May 16th from 10 a.m. to 12 o'clock. You can climb aboard excavators, backhoes, and other big machines at the city's annual event. And then bulky recycling day is going to be Saturday, May 30th. That'll be here at City Hall. This event is for Johns Creek residents only and requires pre-event registration.
