Call in order to the regular meeting of Joplin City Council on Monday, March the 17th. Mrs. Forsyth. Gracious God, as we come to you this day to begin another session of the Joplin City Council, we ask that you impart upon us your wisdom and guidance so that we may promote justice, assist those in need, and provide for the overall well-being of the citizens of Joplin. Amen. Mrs. Carlin, you have some special guests for us. I do. This evening to lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. I've invited Teddy Steen and her group from some of her group from The Rock and Ascent Recovery. I'd like to tell you just a little bit about this group. Ascent Recovery is a very structured residential recovery facility. It's was founded in 2008. And yet it Teddy wanted to touch a wider community. Women and families, not just men. And so the ROC was founded in 2019 in order to serve a broader part of our community. At 1402 South Main on any given day, you can find positive activities and a supportive environment, lots of social activities, cooking classes for families, and a staff who are personally invested in recovery. They have an average of 1,000 visitors per month. So thank you for your work of helping families lead a purposeful recovered life. Thank you. Thanks for having us. Are we ready? You're ready. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. Thank you. Teddy, thank you so much for bringing your group here this evening. If you were wondering what the soldiers on the front line on the war of drugs looks like, it's those folks that were just standing up there. They do that work every single day. There are peer support specialists in there, uh certified counselors, just people that have dedicated their very existence to helping the people in this community that are struggling with drug and alcohol abuse to get back right. So we appreciate everything that they do. Thank you guys for coming. Thank you very much. 1402 South Main, right? Madam Clerk, roll call. Mr. Bard. Present. Ms. Carlin. Present. Mr. Koppel. Present. Mr. Ditarr. Present. Dr. Farnham. Present.
