For over 100 years, they have provide been providing services to the blind and the visually impaired through their programs. Their largest program is a low vision enhancement center, helping those who have some unusual vision by enhancing usable vision by enhancing the vision they have left. They also support the Joplin Service Club for the blind with social activities. Their awesome group of volunteers pick up the members in their vans and transport them to their center. Then they serve lunch to the members every Tuesday at this gathering. They host two fundraising events at the center, Spaghetti Red in April, and Chili and Soup in November. And the food is so good. However, if you can't wait, this coming Saturday, June the 7th at the CJ Lyons Club, we'll host a fundraising breakfast from 7 to 10 30 a.m. with prof proceeds benefiting the Joplin Association for the Blind.
