It is my honor today to rise on behalf of Miss Jesse Jefferson in recognizing her for 50 years of community service.

Miss Jesse Jefferson has dedicated 50 years to serving the Kansas City community with purpose, perseverance, and pride.

Over the past five decades, she has been a trusted leader and an advocate for neighborhood progress, consistently working to uplift residents and strengthen the civic life of our city.

Her leadership in the Ivanhoe Neighborhood Association has had a lasting impact, including the creation of the block captain program, which encouraged neighbors to take an active role in building stronger, safer communities.

She played an important role in helping Kansas City launch its first residential trash cart program, which improved neighborhood cleanliness and enhance public services across the city.

Her vision commitment and commitment are an example and have inspired generations of Kansas Citians to get involved, stay connected, and invest in their neighborhoods.
