The Kansas City Council met on August 13, 2026, to consider a wide range of items including resolutions supporting streetcar workers' unionization, recognizing community leaders and organizations, amending transit and minority/women business enterprise programs, and addressing emergency property repairs. I apologize. The jury who is with the Teamsters was here, but today's a very big day. There is an election with the streetcar drivers to join Teamsters, join the Teamsters. I and I know many of you support NC Street Work Street Car Workers' Unionization effort. The workers are dedicated public transportation professionals who provide safe, reliable, and essential transit services to Kansas City residents and visitors. Collective bargaining provides workers with democratic process to negotiate fair terms, conditions of employment, and to address workplace concerns. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters Oklahoma 55 has a long history of representing transportation workers and advocating for improved wages, benefits, workplace safety, retirement security, and workers' rights. With this, I'm just I'm introducing this because the election is today, and I I'm uh I want to show their support from myself and the council and the mayor. So I thank you.
