DS-26-060: Charter Amendments Related to Citizen Comment Period
DS-26-061: Additional Proposed Charter Amendments
DS-26-059: Discuss Animal Adoption Facility
It is now five PM. I call this meeting to order. I need a counsel. I need a let the record show that all council members are present. Council, I need a motion to approve the agenda. I need a motion to approve the agenda. Councilmember Brown. You can you can speak without I move to approve the agenda. Councilmember Kendricks. Second by Councilmember Kendrick, all those in favor. Signify by saying yes. Opposed no. Okay, raise your hand. All those that are in favor, raise your hand. Oh, those opposed, the motion carries seven to zero. It is now time for citizen comments. Citizens will have three minutes to speak with one minute time allotted for city council to respond with a statement or explanation without engaging in dialogue. Good afternoon, everybody. So just to keep me in. As for non-agenda items, if the resident has three to four minutes to speak, what is the problem to allow the residents whom is a stakeholder in the city to speak? Let them vent, you take notes and follow through. After that, what are what are you all so afraid of as far as the non-agenda uh comments? You know, you have until eleven p.m. I understand to represent us and hear us. With the same respect that we have to hear your responses to the C to city businesses. I didn't run to be a representative of the people. You did. So again, if you don't feel you have compassion for the job, then maybe you need to step down. Not all money is good money. Remember that. Now, last, I'm not here to belittle anyone, you or to tap down to you. You will do it to yourselves by your reactions and your actions on how you vote and how you make comments to people and to other council members. We see more on live stream than we do when we're sitting out here. I know when I I look at the meeting on live stream, I can see you from above. Sitting back here, I can only see the bottom. So all of you, when you're looking at your phones, when you're making comments, when you're talking to each other, when another council member is talking, we can see all that in live stream. So if other personnel are seeing that, they're seeing it on live stream, and that's what gets everybody. Why they don't want to, because I mean let's grow up and be honest and do the right thing. And that's all I have to say. Thank you. Thank you, ma'am. City attorney. Michael Fornino. Good afternoon, sir. Additional charter proposement or proposed charter amendments. Let's be honest. I think you all say we respect the will of the people and the will of the voters. Why then is it that you prevented any charter amendment previously that would restrict yourselves? Iteration after iteration, this council as a body. And I don't want to hear, oh, well, that was the last council.
