So we just have one item to address the night under regular business.

This is item A contract with the purchase and sale agreement for lot 1A, Westbridge filing number one, replat A.

We have our public works director, Jeff Arthur here to get us started.

Good evening, Mayor members of council.

So we have a request for you to authorize a purchase and sale agreement.

So the parcel we're discussing was purchased by the water utility enterprise in 2017 for future use for a water treatment facility.

As you know, over the past year and a half or so, we hired a consultant to do further analysis as part of that analysis.

We determined that that site is actually about half the size of what the water utility needs for a future water treatment site.

But we also along the way learned that it is an adequate size and an ideal location for a treated water storage tank that would find a fit the town of Erie.

Um it is a desirable elevation, it's high enough up that it could be largely or entirely buried, and it is um close proximity to their water distribution system.

So what you have before you tonight is a purchase and sale agreement.

The hope is that it's entirely or at least mostly underground again because it is a it's driven by elevation and it's a high point in the area.

Um Lafayette will work in good faith to allow Erie to access a parcel that we have, or actually a series of parcels we have that extend from the site out to um to a seven so that Erie can tie this into their water distribution system.

Uh Lafayette would rezone the parcel to public prior to closing to accommodate that use on the site.

Um and then we would come back to council with an ordinance authorizing the sale prior to closing.

So tonight is the purchase and sale agreement, and then the actual approval of the transaction would be by ordinance at a later date.

Um the proceeds from the sale would return to the water utility enterprise fund, and we would then be able to in the future use those toward purchase of a site that is more suitable for our future water treatment plan.

So with that, we have a proposed motion and are happy to answer any questions.

I move to approve the purchase and sale agreement between the city of Lafayette and the town of Erie for the sale of city-owned property legally described as lot 1A, Westridge filing number one, replat A in the City of Lafayette, in substantially the same form as the copy in tonight's special meeting packet, subject to non-mature material changes and final approval as to form by the city attorney and authorizing the city manager to execute the purchase and sale agreement on behalf of the city and to extend the closing date for purposes of the party's due diligence at the city manager's discretion.
