The Lake County Council met on September 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM in the Commissioners Court Room in Crown Point. The meeting began with a moment of silence for the anniversary of 9/11 and the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call showed five members present (Hammond, Brown, Bilski, Meyer, Cid) with two absent (Brewer, Lindemulder initially). The meeting was delayed due to technical issues and a member joining remotely. The council approved several resolutions, transfers, appropriations, and a hiring freeze ordinance.
Yep, yep, yep. All right. Can't do anything. Motionary target is there? Thank you. Let me turn you if you read Chris your buttons. Okay. Please ready? Where's time? I heard the rolling stone. Where Tom goes. Okay. We're going to start. County Council meeting now on session. Before we begin today's meeting, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge that this week marks the anniversary of September 11th, observed nationwide as Patriot Day. A national day of remembrance for the nearly 5,000 lives, excuse me, 3,000 lives lost in the terrorist acts of 2001. Each year we remember and honor the courage of the first responders, the heroes who step forward to answer the call in the face of unimaginable tragedy, and we recognize the resilience that continues to define us as a nation. At this time, I ask everyone to please join me in a moment of silence in remembrance of the victims, their families, and the heroes of that day, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Thank you. Pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands. Okay, roll call, madam secretary. First district, David Hammond. Second district, World Brewer. Third district, Charlie Brown. Fourth district, Pete Lindemulder. Fifth District, Christine Stead. Here. Here. Seven district fire. All right. All right, thank you. Um was that Pete? I think that was Ruby. I heard Randy, but I heard someone else breaking in, but I don't see Pete on there. People beat on his easy and he's currently dropping me. He's gonna try to get out when he gets to his destination. He's driving right now. Right. I just touched. Safety first. Okay. All right. Minutes ready. The minutes. Yes. Yes, they were distributed. You read them. Oh absolutely. I make a motion that we approve the minutes of August 12th. Second.
