Discussion Items
- 8.16 & 8.17 – Highway Clarifications: The Chairman asked the engineer to explain two highway items. Item 8.16 was a close-out change order; 8.17 was a utility connection for a lounge to tap into Crown Point sewer. Both were approved without opposition.
- 8.44 – Hobart Township Assessor Office Renovation: Commissioner Allen questioned the funding source. The assessor stated that only rent line item existed; remodeling funds were not yet appropriated. The board approved the $378,978 contract with Pangere Corporation contingent on securing a funding source.
- Bid Openings and Awards:
- 3.1 Jail Kitchen Flooring: Two bids; low bid $284,395 (Pangere). Awarded subject to architect review.
- 3.2 Juvenile Detention Center Drainage: Four bids; low bid $180,245 (Garret). Awarded subject to review.

Moving on to section eight action informed contracts. Uh item 8.1 on behalf of HBAC annual HBAC service provider contracts and updated rate sheets for a period of August 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027 from the following providers. Arctic Engineering Air Comfort Mechanical Concepts Johnson Controls and Lincoln Mechanical. So motion approved. So move for the second. Uh items 8.2 through uh 8. Uh 19. I'm sorry, 8 8.20, all on behalf of uh the highway department. Unless the board of commissioners has any questions for the county engineer, I believe those can be taken in on this form. Agreed. Sorry. Item 8.16. Is that the 45th? Uh no. No, though that's uh start of the actual sewers. That's kind of step. Yeah, 8.16 is the kind of extent project. The list is thank you. I was looking for you earlier. You were sitting right behind that guy. I I also have a question on 8.17. Um the utility agreement. What what is it was our responsibility there? Is he tapping into the new sewers that are going in? No, it's for pivot lounge. They're coming down, they're gonna bore underneath our road and run parallel with our run for a short distance until they get into the city of Crown Point, and then they'll tie into the city from point sewer. Okay.
