Well, good afternoon, everyone. Welcome to the city council meeting. Today is Monday, June 15th, 2026. It's approximately one PM. I'm Mayor Eric Enriquez. Before we start, I want to mention that we have the American Sign Language interpreters up front and available if anybody needs those services. If you all join me, Stan, we'll start with a moment of silence for the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces as they protect our interests around the globe, as well as our courageous men and women of the Las Cruces Police and Las Cruces Fire Department as they keep our city safe twenty-four seven three sixty-five. And earned a number four seed going into the playoffs. The Sunblazers beat Rehoboth Christian 11 to 5 in the quarterfinals and beat number one ranked Eunice Cardinals 4-0 in the semifinals. They capped off a dominant season with a 22-nothing victory. Is there a mercy rule or did they not do that in the playoffs? They did. Five innings. Okay, five innings, a 22-nothing victory over Hozo Academy in the championship game. In all, the Sunblazers outscored their opponents by a combined 37 to 5. The Sun Blair only trailed in the tournament after the top half of the first inning in the first game won zero, and that only lasted two batters. When the bottom when in the bottom of the first inning against Rehobith, Zach Beasley, are you no, not here? Okay. Oh, he's still he's playing some still playing, drove in Weston Marr. That's all right. Awesome. And then scored an error on an error, making the score two one. From that point on, the Sunblazers never trailed again in the entire tournament. In the final, the Sunblazers sought set a record for the most runs and scored in a single inning of championship game. They scored the third most runs in a championship game as well as the second largest margin of victory in a championship game. In 1945, Albuquerque High School beat Santa Fe 23 to 5, and in 1991, Loving beat Santa Rosa 27 to 0. Oh, that's really embarrassing. Only Loving's margin of victory is higher than the 2026 Sunblazers of Las Cruces. This year's all district players include Caden Warner Warner, Sr., Weston Maher Jr., Zach Beasley, sophomore, Ben Mormon, sophomore, and Liam Poppy, freshman. Weston Maher was also named the district player of the year. And at the time of this writing, all five have been nominated to the All-State honors with Caden Warner being nominated for the red green senior all-star game. So please join me in congratulating the Messiah Valley Christian baseball team. Congratulations. All right. We'll take a picture. 22-0. That's pretty amazing. I'd also like to welcome up uh Jamar Cotton, who I saw here somewhere. Come on up. Bring with you your team of folks for New Mexico Outlaws Youth Sports Day, please. Come on up. Come on, Dan.
