- Huntridge Theater (Items 6 & 7): Jay Dapper of Dapper Companies provided the third quarterly report of 2025. The theater's parking lot is being used by the city's Charleston Storm Drain project. A cell tower lease is being moved to the rear of the property. Commissioner Laramie noted that progress included completing the financial stack and historic tax credit approvals. Staff confirmed the original liquidated damages of $389,925 had been reduced to $233,955 after four annual reductions. The commission then voted on whether Dapper had exercised "reasonable diligence to cause significant progress towards rehabilitation." The motion carried unanimously, triggering another $38,992.50 reduction in liquidated damages.
- Mob Museum Expansion (Item 8): President Jonathan Allman, architect Theresa Mears, and historic architect Robert Chattle presented preliminary plans for a 25,000-square-foot, two-story addition on the west side of the museum. The addition would create a new entry plaza on Stewart Avenue, provide accessible entry, and include a glass hyphen to separate old and new. Several commissioners expressed concerns about the loss of the west facade view, the white color scheme, parking impacts, and the ramp placement for accessibility. The project team noted that comments from the National Park Service may require the addition to be set back further. No action was taken; a formal certificate of appropriateness will be submitted later.
- Harrison House (Item 9): Catherine Duncan, Anthony Parnell, and contractor Robert Bazak requested a certificate of appropriateness to repair seven windows, replace six windows, replace three doors, perform spot stucco repairs, and repoint the chimney. The house has three additions from different eras, so window styles vary. Some commissioners preferred restoring all windows to match the 1942 style, while others favored preserving the distinct period styles. The motion to approve passed unanimously, with a condition that staff verify the replacement windows match the appropriate period for each section.
- Cliff May Homes Survey (Item 10): Ann Campana from Kautz Environmental Consultants presented the final intensive-level historic resources survey of the Cliff May homes (roughly bounded by Evergreen Avenue, Aaron Avenue, Easy Street, Upland Boulevard, and Idle Avenue). The report recommends pursuing National Register and local historic district listings. Staff noted that property owner interest has been minimal. The commission approved the report unanimously, with discussion that further funding for a nomination should wait until owner support is obtained.
- Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs Report (Item 11): The second draft of the report titled "A Lush Oasis in the Desert: The History and Development of Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs" was presented. Chair Stotl submitted suggested revisions, including adding the history of the word "Tule" and improving image quality. The commission approved the second draft with those revisions. The final report is due March 25, 2026.
- Election of Officers (Item 12): Because current Chair Stotl and Vice Chair Laramie had served two consecutive terms, elections were held. Commissioner Levine nominated Commissioner Laramie for Chair; the motion passed unanimously. Commissioner Laramie then nominated Commissioner Levine for Vice Chair, which also passed unanimously. The new terms begin in January 2026.
- Reports & Future Topics (Items 13–16): Staff announced that starting January 22, 2026, meetings will return to City Council Chambers. Commissioner Laramie requested that future Huntridge updates include a clear timeline of completed milestones and that the commission explore a National Register nomination for the Cliff May homes once property owner interest is reassessed.
