The Board of Civil Service Trustees convened on January 15, 2026, with Chair Brown and members Hesh, Stamper, Jimenez, and Ponticello present. Deputy City Attorney Michelle Alanis attended. The board considered routine personnel administration actions including approval of prior meeting minutes, certification and extension of eligible lists, classification specification certifications with an amendment, abolition of expired lists, and approval of rehire placements. All items were approved unanimously with minimal discussion.

- Item 5: Certified eligible lists for concrete mason, cultural corridor, engineering associate, parking technician supervisor, pool technician, streets and sanitation supervisor, and traffic field supervisor. (Motion by Hesh, unanimous)
- Item 6: Extended eligible lists for administrative support assistant, fire communications training and development coordinator, fire investigator X, fire prevention inspector 1x, human resources technician, law enforcement support technician, recreation coordinator, and senior planner. (Motion by Ponticello, unanimous)
- Item 7: Certified classification specifications for communications specialist supervisor, corrections lieutenant, fire battalion chief (40-hour week removed at staff request), fire prevention inspector 1/2, and other roles. The board approved an amended version after staff requested removal of the fire administrative battalion chief (40-hour week) item. (Motion by Hesh, unanimous)
- Item 8: Abolished eligible lists for senior IT support technician and senior technical systems analyst. (Motion by Stamper/Ponticello, unanimous)
- Item 9: Approved placement of George Jorge Cauca on the rehire list for deputy city marshal, Melania Wala Navarro for law enforcement support technician, and Aubrey Underwood for fire communication specialist. (Motion by Stamper, unanimous)
