My name is Kathy Thomas.

I'm the chief housing officer with the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority, and we do have a team presentation today for all of you.

And we're very pleased to do it.

I think many of you have been getting snippets of this, and you requested to have a more comprehensive update, and so we will be providing that to you.

One is the actual physical housing stock.

So obviously, that is Marble Manor.

And that is a post-war center block construction, and it has served our families well, and it is time to reinvest in those families.

And that includes things like public art and facade improvements, and you'll hear team members discuss that.

The third and perhaps most important pillar is people.

So prior to getting this implementation grant, we actually did have a planning grant that was $500,000 that allowed us to build on the foundation from the 100 plan, incorporate more fully the vision that the residents have for what their community should bring to them and how they wanted to engage with the built environment.

And so those are three pillars that are set up nationally actually by HUD, and you'll hear today how we've taken that from a conceptual framework into action literally on the block.

For us, you will see three core areas that we're going to update about today, specifically responding to some requests from this body to understand more fully what the public-private partnerships entailed and who those partners are, how they're engaging in a more meaningful way at the community level.

You also asked us about workforce development, and we have an additional grant from the jobs plus program, also a federal program that is funding our FLEX program, and you'll get more detail about how Flex is supporting employment and training for residents at Marble Manor and other public housing sites on the historic west side.
