Commissioner comments do we have any commissioner comments that are not once we address later agenda.

I I'd like to if we all right so um so I I looked at the uh minutes I wasn't at the last meeting and and I know you um you passed along some of the things uh that I had taken note uh from the um from the event yeah the networking event working event um so I just so there were just some things I wanted uh to follow up on and um and something that so one thing I wanted to follow up on and one thing that I hadn't uh shared um uh before so um one of the um networking opportunities was with the communications and tech commission um and so I had mentioned to them that uh we uh as a commission we fund the bablic um translation and so I sort of paused and and sort of said I mean at some point perhaps the town council would see it fit to have it as part of there and after you know just a moment of thinking about it the gentleman I didn't jot his name down the gentleman who's the um the chair of that commission said I don't understand why it isn't already in the town's budget and so I said yeah I mean it's not um and I think it's working well the the website translates very nice very everything is working very well it just happens to be in a commission's budget and sort of so I I guess what I would ask is um I would want the commission's um approval uh for me to make some sort of uh official connection with the communication and tech commission about getting their help because they are the ones who uh propose any sort of technology based um uh budget items to the town oh um and so um so as as opposed to us proposing something that is technology based uh we'd be proposing it from a diversity point of view uh but not from the technology point of view um so what I would ask is um and if if if we don't want to necessarily vote on it today that's perfectly fine or or next time but just wanted to see how the commission felt about uh me sort of taking on uh reaching out to this other commission uh about exploring that I would love that yeah so I guess I I I would that would be my motion to uh just what would be the word to support a commissioner to reach sort of to sort of officially reach out to the communications and tech commission uh about um exploring uh a funding right a proposal to the town council um for them to take on the funding of bablic as you know relatively permanent so it doesn't necessarily have to be with the company bablic at some point the company could change but with a trans

A proposal to the town council um for them to take on the funding of Bablik as you know relatively permanent.

It doesn't necessarily have to be with the company Bablik at some point the company could change, but with a translating service so that it's kind of built into the town budget.

That would be what I said and not repeat repeating it.

And then um uh the uh another one that I had brought up, I see it's already on agenda on the agenda for new business, so that that's fine.

I'll skip that one.

The other um commission that I uh just chatted with briefly was the airport uh commission.

And um one of the things at their uh when they had their three minutes that they were very excited about was uh story time.

And I just it just was a thought.

Um had they ever considered, you know, story time in an English in a non-English language, um, uh whether that could be ASL or that could be Spanish or that could be something like that.

Or would they ever consider uh something um which uh you know lots of communities have done, but other communities have not done uh things like um like when a story time is led by um like a drag queen or something along those lines.

Um so uh again, I I don't think I'm necessarily gonna say that I need you know, sort of the commission's permission to just maybe reach out to them about language or something like that.

But I know just one thing.

So though the story time is held at Leesburg Airport, it's actually run by Loudoun County Public Library.

Ah, okay.

All right.

So they seem to be taking credit for it during their three minutes.

I felt like they were saying that is doing story time.

Yes.

Okay.

So yeah.

So it's just a vent, a different venue.

Right.

So they're their excitement.

I think my opinion, I'm not speaking on behalf of the airport commission.

I think when the airport director broached the idea and connected with LCPL, the excitement was around getting people to the airport that maybe traditionally wouldn't come to the airport.

Other than the air show.

But you know, people that aren't necessarily flying in and out for business or or pleasure or whatnot.
