Lincoln City Council Regular Meeting - June 1, 2026

The Lincoln City Council convened on Monday, June 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM with all seven members present. The meeting featured the Mayor's Award of Excellence presentation, unanimous approval of consent items and multiple liquor license applications, adoption of several resolutions and an ordinance, and first reading of new resolutions and ordinances.

Mayor's Award of Excellence

• Ben Middendorf from Aging Partners received the Mayor's Award of Excellence for February 2026 in the categories of Inclusion & Belonging and Customer Service Excellence.

• 26R-247 (7-0): Accepted and approved the report of new and pending claims against the City for May 1 through May 14, 2026.
• 26R-228 (7-0): Waiver 26002 - approved waiving the paving requirements for a parking lot for Elevate Church on property generally located at 7155 S 75th Street.
• 26R-244 (7-0): Approved a Master Professional Services Agreement between the City of Lincoln and Deckard Technologies, Inc. to provide Short Term Rental Software for a three (3) year term with the option to renew for one additional three (3) year term, not to exceed $124,523.00.
• 26R-245 (7-0): Approved an Interlocal Agreement between the City of Lincoln and the Educational Service Unit Coordinating Council (ESUCC) to jointly bid and contract for supplies, materials, equipment, and services.
• 26R-246 (7-0): Comprehensive Plan Conformance 26003 - determined conformance with the 2050 Lincoln-Lancaster County Comprehensive Plan and the Belmont Neighborhood Redevelopment Plan, including the Mid-South Belmont Revitalization Project, generally bounded by Interstate 180 on the west, Superior Street on the north, North 27th Street on the east, and Cornhusker Highway and Salt Creek on the south.

Ordinances - Third Reading

• 26-44 (7-0, passed as Ordinance #21875): Amended Lincoln Municipal Code Section 23.10.520, Electrical Code Permit Fees, changing the minimum fee to a base fee applied to all permits, removing the requirement that temporary and branch circuits be separate permits, and reducing fees associated with individual equipment and repairs due to changes in the base fee.
• 26R-226 (7-0, adopted): Approved fee schedule changes to mechanical/HVAC permits issued through Planning and Development Services (related to 26-44).
