The Plan Commission met on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 6:00 PM in Council Chambers and via Zoom. All six members were present (Mayor Nickels, Jagemann, Koski, Hornung, Diedrich, Steinbrenner) with one absent (Schlei). The meeting included two public hearings on zoning and map amendments, an update on the ongoing zoning code rewrite, and miscellaneous items. Both public hearing items were approved unanimously and referred to the City Council meeting on May 18, 2026.
Call the plan commission meeting to order at this time. Uh roll call. We do have all members. Kurt uh was a member, but he is not on anymore. Um so we'll have a seat open there for a little bit, but we do have all members present. Except Bill Keysage. Oh, Bill, yeah, no, Bill 2. Thank you. Thank you for pointing that out too. Motion carried unanimously. Welcome, Paul. We will move to we have two public hearings this evening. First one is amendment to the official map located west of Virginia Drive and Joseph Road. Hi. I guess I should have waited for you. You're the most important one here. Um right. No, certainly certainly green. Zach Kennedy. Um for an official map amendment. It's been a while since we had one. Um so basically the on the map at the dashed black areas the existing official map street. It connects uh Joseph Road and Virginia Drive. Um it the kind of the orange brown color, that's the existing wetlands. So it it obviously you're not gonna build a street in a wetland, and it wouldn't even if you would, you wouldn't have any saleable lots. So the plan would be to remove the official map street, add kind of the red circles, um, so then there'd be turnarounds for snow plows, etc. And then well, and then basically right now it's two large lots. Um there's a certified survey, ultimately there's a current certified survey creating two lots. One of the lots is gonna sell, and then the remainder of the the other lot is gonna get redivided into three lots, which will kind of cover this area here. So ultimately it'll be four lots. Um they'll be creative working around the wetlands, so at least you can get a buildable site for residents. Um I did um sent out notices to the neighbors, and two people called. Um right on the end of uh Virginia and Joseph Road. Let's see here. If I might not says a Jim Lynn and a Paul Miller, neither of them had any issues at all. So that's my report. All right.
