Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. I want to call to order the uh meeting on Monday, May 11, 2026 at two p.m. We begin with a proclamation for National Public Works Week. Council, will you all join me down front so that we can give accolades to these good men and women. Mayor, while you guys are all making your way down to the front, and I'm sure all these men and women will make their way to the front for a picture after the fact. I it it's you know uh in a city and rightfully so, police and fire get a lot of attention for being first responders and being the first on the scene when something's wrong. Uh what you see out there in front of you this evening are the men and women who aren't just first responders, they are also that. But if they don't show up for work, life changes for absolutely everyone in this city immediately. And these folks are also those that work around the clock, they're out there on the weekends, they're out there in the evenings regardless of the type of weather, if they're needed, they answer the call. So uh before I go stand on the side over here and you guys read the proclamation and bring them down. I just wanted to say that I'm incredibly proud of these staff members. They are among the best we absolutely have, and without them, cities simply just don't operate the way they're supposed to. So and you're right, and yes, I heard amen. And you're right about that. Can I get another amen? There it is. All right. This is a proclamation by the mayor of the city of Mansfield, Texas. Whereas this year's theme, rooted in service, powered by community, acknowledges how deeply public works professionals care about their service to Mansfield. And whereas public works professionals focus on the design, construction, and maintenance of critical infrastructure that supports our daily lives, such as roads, public drinking water, and environmental services. And whereas these noteworthy individual services, they rely on the hard work and expertise of dedicated professionals to ensure Mansfield remains a sustainable and resilient community. Where we encourage our residents to take an interest and understand of the great work that our public works professionals complete. Now, therefore, I, Michael Evans, Mayor of the City of Mansfield, Texas, joined with members of the City Council to proclaim May 17th through the 23rd, 2026 as National Public Works Week in the City of Mansfield and encourage our residents and our community to show their appreciation and gratitude to our public work staff for their invaluable contributions to our city and also the outstanding services that they provide to us on this day. Thank you all so very much for your service. We owe you a lot. Happy day. I tell you what, yeah, y'all do that. Why don't we turn around? And then y'all come up this way. Y'all come this way. That's right. We want to make sure we've got the city logo behind you all. There you go. Yeah, yeah, we're gonna need them all to come up. Yeah, we don't have one that way, so all right. People my height and shorter, y'all come to the front. You taller folks, y'all go to the back. Leaning in to the um to the day outs there. Let's go all the way to the back. There we go. There we go. Yeah, yeah, people my height. Well, we don't call it short. We just you know, yeah. Well, I'm not challenged. Well, yes, I am sometimes. All right, all right.
