So we've got some language where she's allowed to grant leave to lower assistant prosecutors just the language in there that is should just be preserved for not extended.

So can we do this without the contract at this moment?

Um, and then now since we've moved from our tiny space to our bigger space, we also have full bar.

So um that's kind of where the brassery part comes in, where now you can get coffee until you're ready to switch to cocktails or at any time, no judgment here.

And what kind of what kind of pizzas are we slamming over at the pizza shop?

Um it's Brian Pizza, it's uh sourdough crust.

Um we have a limited menu because our space is so small.

Um yeah, like Katie said, you can sit down here at five o'clock and order like we've got appetizers that come from here and desserts, and then pizza comes from across the street.

What is it been like being in this little neighborhood?

It's amazing, I think.

But in the neighborhood is so supportive, like it's beyond flattering.

And now that you can like order pizza, like you walk up, grab yourself a pizza or order it from here, bring it over, there's a green space for kids to play, there's like a little play, you know, natural playground swings.

So there's like room to run around.

I think we also, and like we said, being in the phase of little kids, we were like, we want somewhere where we could go and enjoy and sit and relax, and like kids can still play and have fun.

Um so we try to do that for everybody else.

We've got a lot of others that have uh been on the site for a good while, but this is our first adventure.

Marietta Water is underway this winter with a water line replacement project in the St.

Anne's and St.

Mary's neighborhood area.

Marietta Water, we're replacing approximately 10,000 feet of six and eight-inch water main in the uh towing place, St.

Mary's, North St.

Mary, St.

Ann uh neighborhoods, uh the existing water mains, they've they've sort of were reaching the uh end of their life cycle.

So by replacing the water mains, uh our customers can rely on when they go through the faucet, water is going to be there.

You have uh kind of a mixture of eight and six-inch water mains.

Uh they're gonna be put, you know, in the right-of-way, uh, kind of paralleling the uh existing uh water main lines.

Uh the investment's pretty close to almost 2.2 million.

This project's expected to last until late June.

Once it's complete, you know, they they could see it may see uh an increase in pressure.

Definitely volume uh will probably be a little better, and just the reliability of knowing that for you know decades to come that sound infrastructure going forward.

Projects like these keep Marietta's infrastructure strong today and in the future.

Uh getting uh ADA sidewalk improvements as well assured as prepared, trying to get ahead of World Cup project.

So that contact now is finishing up that project.

And last thing I'll mention, um, I think I mentioned it last time, but uh we are officially now.

We have taken over um downtown solid waste district uh with uh collections uh recycling in house.

Uh our driver took that over a couple weeks ago now, as well as all the city facilities and parks.

So we uh doing all that ourselves now.

We do not have an outside vendor.

Um very well so far at that.

He's still learning the curbs a little bit, uh so he's um talking far too far, and he's superseding the costume in some places, but he's doing good.

So uh especially for downtown right now.

So um closures, unlike our previous uh vendor driver wouldn't get out of the truck.

We should just live there until we got there and pick it up.

Our driver gets out to sleep, cleans up, makes the enclosures are all clean, extra stuff sitting in there, and he throws it in there and don't make it leave.

So uh it's a lot better situation than what we've had before.

So everything's working very well.

Um that's been a fourth year of that's been a very successful uh special event for us.

Uh March 14th, uh, Kate Mariana Beautiful will have a paper spreading day.

That'll be held at uh this is the Port Park in the uh uh the parking lot uh from 9 in the morning until noon.

Uh March 21st, uh Kistrip Park Sports Infit Center.

We have a bunny brunch.

Uh design for young kids that can come out and meet the meeting or buddy.

We do Easter and that kind of stuff.

And then uh March 28th, also at Customer Park Sports and Fitness Center, we'll have our board game day.

So Mariana has a large continuous people like to play board games.

Uh so we'll have that we'll have that that morning.

And then finally, just wrap up with uh Conserver Park Sports and Fitness Center, our basketball league, uh our final games wrap up this weekend, is our championship uh game this weekend, and we've got a good season, and uh the kids are done a good job, and we're excited about what they're doing.

Uh we've got some fun things covered up, uh tomorrow is an important day.

So just for the shortest two things.

Uh always like to talk about personnel where we stand for that.

We currently have four openings, but we'll have those four openings filled in the next three weeks.

Uh one of those, I'm hoping will be a uh former officer that worked in Mardi PD for about four years.

Uh he left for the private sector about six years ago, uh, went to work for Clock for a while, and he's decided to just come back to us.

So we got getting through a couple more steps of the parking process, but that'd be good to get a certified officer back.

Um I'm hoping to have two or three officers presented in next week's council meeting.

We have to get them out.

They can be supported in before they can come here, but uh we should have know for sure why we may have a couple.

Um training last year, I think, or maybe an action two years.

I can't remember if we did or not, I know we did it at some town halls.

They paid last year, uh, all of our officers uh we totaled up their post-training or Georgia post-training for 2025.

They had 29,000 hours.

So that's pretty impressive when you think of the uh number of officers we had from full authorization, 139, do the math, or that's a great deal of training that they've undergone, and that's just post-hour that doesn't count the in-house stuff that we get the shift level training, tactical training, etc.

So we've undergone a lot of training in the last year, and we're taking that ball off again this year to make sure that they uh have all the training we can possibly get to open those opportunities, including spending some uh Sage drug money to send them some classes that they might not otherwise be able to go to.

So we're on that ball.

Um and lastly, you just want to mention again that the training center is on path to be completed in March in the building over the office on the road.

And after we put some paving down and some landscaping, then we'll have to work.

So that's coming, of course, a little bit quick.

The uh last thing I'll drink in the meeting before this had uh money that would actually be able to go to help out the right.

Every time I walked up to say something about full uh C.

Um so really wanted to provide an update on the new schedule.

Um I know I've done this many times, but again, we need to say it again.

Uh the work they had put in to get the pen sex correct with the new county cycle was pretty pretty heavy-lift.

Um, but you know, being out of the station, so we're just over one now, talking to the firefighters.

It's overwhelmingly positive uh with the newspaper.

Um yeah, they're tired after the four years.

Um, we'd have to work 48, but they're cold for three days and then feeling more rested now because I think it's like it's off.

So uh talking about a group, um they had their first Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at home.

Uh just very many different fact one of our captain's students his wife said, well now that you seem to have a whole war, we're gonna have to kind of re-establish the rules and jobs.

So uh the whole uh everybody's been to the adjustment for it, which is great.

Um overwhelmingly very positive stuff.

Um we've gotten a lot of departments watching how we're doing this, whether it works or not.

Um so that's it's gonna be in the forefront.

Um days ago we were out in the visiting station.

One of the things that we do is recognize recruits to have what's called a lifestyle reward.

So some kind of cardiac game, full arrest, uh, and then an individual needs a hospital.

We think they need to recognize what they do.

Um went down.

We had a staff last year, so we had VD cardiac arrests within the city.

Um, we've got what's called ROS return spontaneous circulation.

And 11 of those actually walked out of the hospital, uh, which is just uh 14%.

So that's on the higher end of the national average.

So I just want to say we recognize the work that we do.

So that's one person in 60 months walking out of the hospital because the work that we have the police department do because they're office often there before we are in for the super.

So I think that's important to recognize um that you know again the the work, the effort to train, all that good stuff, serving the community is something we're very proud of.

Um, you know, some people might think 11, well, that's 11 people are going home and just have it more time.

So we're very proud of that.

Um continue to keep their work out there.

So uh you guys will be getting an invite from us uh during the next few days.

We will have our annual war server coming up.

We do just a short quick opportunity for us to recognize our team members of work that we're still thinking about the AEs that we just through with capital dollars, so the the devices we went throughout the city were uh, we weren't able to lose any more the batteries and sort of stuff.

Um so we ran our place off three to B EDs throughout the city.

Um with that we're actually able to return those back into that frames and we're able to work.

So we get their their life shares, uh in fact we have them throughout our enterprise throughout our all of our facilities is company.

They also do our uh medication.

Yeah, so all the the Narco uh the knoxal and systems are in the north, so there's some laws we have not gone throughout uh just what we support the topic leadership uh group and help them on the side of the night and our two training um you know, we send them all home with our team uh and a couple of them were kind of asking, well, why do I need this?

I don't you know, I'm never going to and I don't spend necessary for you.

It's a company about the more we can get that out there to the better.

Yeah.

And then we will train up surprise the problems.

Do you want to just quickly go over the budget process since you're right?

No, that's fine.

Just go just a general overview, especially for new accounts members, but why not do the process remote?

Okay.

So we are in this is February.

We are month two going into part three of our budgetary process.

We typically um the budget process up until a couple of years ago was um six-month process from January through June.

Uh we have extended that a little bit to allow the departments a little bit more time to be able to prepare, um, do some strategic planning, um, just give them a little bit more flexibility.

So we actually start our process in the beginning of December.

We um send out packets to all of the partners giving them an idea of where they are in the current budget thus far and where they ended in the last budget.

And so with that process, um, they are um given the access for their um operating budgets, and then they also provide capital.

Most of the personnel budget is done in-house by the budgetary team, and they are um through the um service proposals able to make some adjustments.

Um, if they have new initiatives and things of that nature, we kind of review those three as well.

So we Friday is actually our um operating budget deadline.

We've already um exceeded the deadline for the uh capital budget.

Last year we um we kind of broke it up.

Uh BLW, we have two different um time frames for BLW and all fact.

So for uh BLW, they um their deadline is about two weeks ago to submit all of their capital projects.

Um general fund we extend it to the month of May.

And the reason for that is because as I mentioned before, um with our general fund budget, our capital is determined based on our um revenues over our expenditures of what we have left over.

The BLW's uh capital budget and is incorporated in the um overall operations throughout the year.

So as of June, I'm sorry, July 1st.

BLW will have full access to their capital budget.

The general fund, we kind of review those capital budgets in the month of August, and we bring it forth to the council to review in the typically in November council month council meeting is when it was approved.

It'll be brought forth in the October committees.

And at that time, once it is fully approved, then the different departments will have access to their budget.

So it's from the leftover excess funds from the previous fiscal year, and they'll be able to utilize it in the current year.

So as it per se this year in August, we'll review the excess from 20 fiscal year 2026, which is our current fiscal year, and then by the end of November, we'll have access to those funds to spend during an FY27 budget.

Okay.

Other than that, we have department head meetings after everything is finalized.

They have submitted all of their budgets inside of the budgetary module.

We review all of them, consolidate, we have conversations with the manager's department heads, compile.

We meet with each and every department head to make sure that they are comfortable with the full budget as it will be presented to the council or the board in the instance for BLW.

With BLW, we have to have our budget submitted to their board for prior approval for it to be incorporated in the overall city budget a month in advance.

So we'll have in April the free loan budget goes to the BLW.

Then they have their final budget for the board in May.

For the council and the overall city budget, we'll have that available.

I can come back later during the finance committee meetings and provide a schedule of those, but we have advertisements that have to go out in the newspaper, social media, etc.

to alert the public of when we will have a budget budgetary hearings that also provide some monthly opportunity to access the budget via online or the city manager's office.

It is an account line item budget, so it incorporates every fund in every account that is funded for the city, and it also provides a three-year look back as to how those funds were allocated in the previous years, the actuals that we actually spent.

So it allows you to review that, and that is provided in advance of the May committees, and then we will start our budget.

We have our budget presentation for council in May, then we'll have a budget hearings the first week in June, and then it is presented for uh final approval for the council for the agenda work session and the council meeting in the month of June.

So we have to have an established budget in place by uh July 1st.

So that kind of gives you a walk through this pretty well off the council.

Um I'm very familiar with it.

Um we don't have any questions.

Um I would say um with uh business license, we as I mentioned, we're in our um heavy renewal season.

Um our credit card work that um was hit by cybersecurity um attack, and so with that we are currently unable to process um business license renewal requests and new applications online, they're taking payments for that, and so that um we haven't been provided a timeline for um the correction on that.

IT is working very diligently to um work through that particular issue and provide additional options, but the merchant right now doesn't have a timeline, so I wanted to just make that available at edit and a lot of um businesses uh reach out to the council and so um we are the only area that uh is heavy hit by uh that particular merchant uh within the city, so there aren't any other areas that are heavily impacted that with uh excess tax coming up um next week.

Um and all of that had been moved online where all the payments were being made there.

There may be some uh communication from business owners that just wanted to make that uh if you aware that in case you get any requests or communications from business owners related to the online cash.

So there's a bunch of way in process if they're walking, they just can't really business license terms, but the online piece, which is what most people want to not do it.

It is impacting the building into a little bit of some cutoff form that we use for after hours that they're impacted as well.

This is very significant, it's probably one of the more significant we have a lot of information in fact.

I don't know why the next secret service involvements in the FBI.

So there's not a whole lot of information, so just the kind of things that told us we're supposed to get an update.

They've been doing it daily, but I think today's basically been doing it for their state.

So we may have to do that.

Um as we said, CTA is coming up since the government academy registrations are open, or gonna be open this whole week.

Um actually first class would be March 18 this week.

Um the um county has set up uh a meeting with all the cities uh as far as the staff of all the cities and their staff to talk about land use changes uh and what uh was discussed previously and had a meeting that were the simple elector officials were but um but we'll be having that soon uh kind of where that goes, but that would deal with the dispute resolution process that we have uh that we're currently involved in trying to get that uh laid out in the way that it shouldn't be now because there's so many conflicting uh parts of it between the state law and what we have locally to be updates on that and eventually will be something that would come to account.

Um the uh powder springs annexation and oh my land use dispute, um what's going on there?

There are some meetings that are taking place um between the county and uh looking trying to talk about that.

We'll get you those kind of working through it.

Um the uh good news side uh that we've got the 250th coming up, uh, which are the nice and celebrating, and we're celebrating with it.

Uh we'll have a logo which will go out maybe tomorrow afternoon.

It'll be tomorrow or Friday, um, that we're gonna use to brand everything that goes on in the community 250th.

Um one of the first things that you'll see that it's gonna be the concert lineup for this spring and summer and fall um that will be branded with it, uh, which will be great.

It is also their anniversary on top of uh the fact that it's the two 50th.

So there'll be a lot of special things going on uh with the concerts.

We've got some traveling displays that hopefully we're going to get in and be able to use good.

So we're catching a lot of different people.

And how do residents be part of that committee is there?

Absolutely.

They can get in touch with Rachel.

And they have involved in the round.

But we started out with the committee with every organization we can think of that might want to be involved.

And that's how we ended up with 50 some people there, and most of them just represent one organization.

We need to folks who want to get involved.

So that would be great.

And so we'll be jointly advertising all of those events for all those groups that are tied into the 250.

We're going to really concentrate between Memorial Day and John, you know, the end of July.

Most of the things happen, but not all.

We'll have stuff that we'll go into the fall.

But definitely want to concentrate on the top around the 4th of July.

We have actually put in a request to FIFA to be able to do that.

And we're just waiting for them to respond.

They've got a process to do this, but it takes a while for them to respond back to folks.

I really don't know anybody that's gotten response back yet.

We're all waiting.

But that'll be a good time.

We've got a lot of sponsors and folks that will help us with that, obviously, later once to participate in what's going on on that particular launch party.

But we've also got a lot of tourism groups to work.

And you guys have really enjoyed it and ran the plaque that the council would haven't authorized.

And so that was a surprise to him.

So that was really good, but that would be adding up and uh actually going forward.

And so we've been showing those kind of highlighting uh just didn't have regrettably, uh, at least at the first, uh, the U.S.

doesn't plan a weekly.

They played our weekends, and uh most of your games in the clubs are like at the 3 o'clock.

So uh that kind of from the region and block off the square from that.

Um instead we're looking at a Saturday or something.
