The Board of City Service Commissioners convened virtually on June 2, 2026, at 1:30 PM and adjourned at 1:44 PM. All five commissioners were present: President Frank Bock, Vice President Marilyn Miller, and Commissioners Janet Cleary, Steve Smith, and Heidi Wick Spoerl. - Extension of Temporary Appointments:
- Milwaukee Water Works (File #260168): Second extension for Korea Dalton and Levar Wells as Water Distribution Investigators for 90 days through September 12, 2026. A recruitment effort is underway. Approved unanimously (5-0).
- Milwaukee Public Library (File #260169): First extension for Brandon Hubbard as Building Services Supervisor II for 90 days. Library HR administrator Jessica Wolf stated the department expects the employee on leave to return sooner than three months. Approved unanimously (5-0).
- Department of Public Works (File #260177): Six-month extensions for seven city laborers (June 7–December 19 or June 21–December 19, 2026). Commissioner Cleary commended the partnership with Wisconsin Community Services Agency to help participants regain driver's licenses. Approved unanimously (5-0).
- Probationary Period Extensions:
- Department of Neighborhood Services (File #260178): 90-day extension for Irene Cervantes, Customer Service Representative II, due to performance concerns and a vacant supervisor position. HR administrator Shanise Burnell Jones confirmed the employee is aware. Approved unanimously (5-0).
- Assessor's Office (File #260179): Extension for Sharletta Thurman, Residential Property Appraiser 3. The request listed dates June 22, 2026–May 22, 2027 (11 months). President Bock clarified the intent for a full 12 months through June 22, 2027. Commissioner Cleary moved to extend for 12 months. Approved unanimously (5-0).
- Reinstatement: Department of Public Works (File #260180): Rolando Juarez reinstated to Yard Attendant. Commissioner Cleary expressed support. Approved unanimously (5-0).
