1:00

Absolutely.

1:00

Well,

Speaker 2

1:01

thank you, committee members.

1:02

Great to be here this afternoon on a beautiful day.

1:04

Yes.

1:04

You know, the week that we're going to be kicking off the World Series.

1:06

So very excited and excited to be here.

1:08

Oh, yeah.

1:09

Oh, yeah.

1:09

Uh Matt Donor, CEO of Milwaukee Downtown, excited to be here for the reappointment of Steve Bartelt.

1:14

Um, one of uh a key member of our board um coming in up on his first uh reappointment.

1:19

And since joining, Steve's been a very um active member representing the Marcus Corporation here in downtown Milwaukee, and a corporation that's got over 90 years invested in some of our most iconic properties, obviously the Fister, St.

1:32

Kate, Hilton, and multiple food and beverage um operations.

1:36

Um since Steve's joined the board, he's also been a member, a key member of our executive committee, um, and again, very active, and not only a major employer that's reinvested there with their uh corporate headquarters directly across the street, uh major employer in downtown Milwaukee.

1:49

So uh for so many reasons and uh all the civic involvement that Marcus has in the and our great city.

1:54

Um excited to be here for Steve's reappointment.

Speaker 1

1:57

Excellent, excellent.

1:58

Steve, what do you have

Speaker 3

2:00

to say?

2:00

Can I take credit for the brewers being in the world series

Speaker 1

2:03

on my first reappointment?

2:04

We all will take credit for that.

Speaker 3

2:06

I wish I could, but uh well, thank you so much for the opportunity to appear in.

2:11

Look, um downtown's got a lot of great things going forward.

2:15

I mean, we have three big properties, Marcus Corp does in downtown, and we're we're vested in the city and in the downtown area.

Unassigned speaker

2:21

And um, I think we've done a lot of good work here in the last three years when I've been on the bid looking forward to continuing with the city.

Speaker 1

2:27

Well, we appreciate it, man.

2:28

You're definitely making a difference, and uh, we rely on your um leadership as far as the bid for other bids to follow and and use as an example.

2:39

But let me ask you, uh, as far as downtown and all of the businesses, is there some type of collaboration in the brewer's celebration or brewer support?

2:47

Are we uh is there some uh are people working together down there?

Speaker 2

2:50

Yeah, absolutely.

2:51

So they've been uh the Brews have always been a great partner, and especially this summer we really ramped it up when we partnered on the Bob Youcher mural that um right across from the fister earlier this year.

2:59

Oh, yeah.

3:00

So as we started advancing in the playoffs, there's been basically daily conversation.

3:03

So amongst all the great work that the team does and our ambassadors out on the field and everything else, a lot of conversation about just different activations.

3:10

For example, down at the last night market, uh, we had those oversized baseballs that uh we invited the community to come down to and and write their well wishes to the brewers at Wishamon, and we installed those up and down um east and west Wisconsin Avenue.

3:23

So just an example of one of those great collaborations and continue to work uh with them, whether it be um the support in um the the bridge flags that you see up and down uh going uh across uh across the river.

3:34

Yeah, um, and have some other things that we're gonna be getting out in uh uh just continuing to push.

3:38

Uh by random act acts of kindness popping out at the noon at the noon hour um and give you know our downtown workforce.
