16:41

NAREB, Realtist Week, April 5th through April 12th, 2025.

16:47

Whereas the National Association of Real Estate Brokers Incorporated, also known as NAREB, was founded in Tampa, Florida in 1947 as an equal opportunity and civil rights advocacy organization for African American real estate professionals, consumers, and communities in America.

17:05

And whereas NAREB, the oldest minority real estate trade association in America, was the key advocate in the passage of the U.S.

17:40

And whereas the week of April 5th through April 12th is recognized as NAREB Realtist Week, where over 100 chapters across the country will celebrate a week of activities centered around fair housing, advocacy, health, and well-being, faith and worship, and community services.

17:59

And whereas from the past to the present, NAREB remains an association proud of its past, dedicated to its chosen struggle, and unrelenting in its pursuit to the of the realtors, mission vision, embodied gold, democracy, and housing.

18:18

And we'll like to thank our local realists who have been a great partner with the city of Miramar and reaching out to our community to provide pathways to home and property ownership as well as recognizing the legacy that NAREB has left behind when real estate associations would not allow black real estate professionals to be a member and started their own and to really work on advocacy for housing justice across this country.

18:50

So thank you all for carrying on the torch and being able to provide pathways to home ownership and property ownership in South Florida and specifically here in Miramor.

19:01

I'd like to provide an opportunity for our Madam President to share some brief greetings.

19:06

Thank you all so much for having us.

19:15

Our would you what he um what do you did?

19:17

Mayor Wayne Massum did say yes, we are the oldest minority real estate trade organization in the country.

19:22

So blacks were not able to become real estate professionals, isn't that something back in 1947?

19:29

So we've overcome so many other um hurdles for us advocating for fair housing.

19:34

So we want to continue to close um the wealth gap, be able to increase black homeownership, especially here in the city of Myanmar.

19:41

So thank you so much for honoring us, and we look forward to our continuing partnership with the city.

19:45

20:41

Proclamation Arbor Day, April 30th, 2025.

20:45

Whereas Arbor Day Observed annually on the last Friday of April focuses on the importance of planting and conserving trees to enhance the health of our environment.

20:54

And whereas trees and green spaces provide vital habitats for wildlife, helping to preserve local species and promoting ecological balance.

21:02

And whereas trees and green spaces help improve air quality, reduce carbon footprints, support biodiversity, and play a vital role in combating climate change.

21:13

And whereas trees as essential components of our ecosystem provide shade, reduce energy consumption, promote biodiversity, and improve our mental and physical well-being.

21:23

21:34

And whereas planting and caring for trees provide opportunities for residents to engage in environmental stewardship, making a positive impact on our local environment for gener for future generations.
