Proclamation, Emergency Medical Services Week, we care for everyone, May 18th through the 24th, 2025.

Whereas emergency medical services is a vital public service, and whereas the members of medical medical emergency medical services teams are ready to provide life-saving care to those in need twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

And whereas access to quality emergency care dramatically improves the survival and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury.

And whereas emergency medical services teams consist of emergency physicians, emergency nurses, emergency medical technicians, paramedics, firefighters, educators, administrators, and others.

And whereas the members of emergency medical services teams, whether career or volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their life-saving skills.

And whereas Americans benefit daily from the knowledge and skills of these highly trained individuals.

And whereas it is appropriate to recognize the value and the accomplishments of emergency medical services providers by designating emergency medical services week.

Now, therefore, I wanna mess them by virtue of the power vested in me as mayor of the city of Miramore and on behalf of the City Commission, do hereby proclaim the week of May 18th through 24th, 2025 as emergency medical services week.

And I encourage our broader community to take time out to visit our website in the City of Myanmar for our fire rescue services, where you can see all of the valuable resources that is available to the community that could perhaps save a loved one life or your own life.

Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, May 2025.

Whereas this month we celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and we recognize their contributions to every aspect of our society, from businesses, from business and politics to literature and the arts.

And whereas during Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we celebrate the indelible mark these individuals have left on our culture and pay tribute to the Maraud ways in which they continue to strengthen our city and country.

Whereas the origin of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month dates to 197 when five joint resolutions were introduced proposing that a week in May be designated to commemorate the accomplishments of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.

And whereas it is therefore appropriate to acknowledge and promote awareness of the invaluable contributions of the Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the city of Miramar and across the country and extend to them the respect and camaraderie every American deserves.

And whereas the rich and unparalleled diversity of its residents, the city of Miramar takes great pride in supporting the vast diversity of languages, religions, and cultural traditions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders continue to strengthen our nation through their achievements in all of all of all walk of life.

And whereas there are 13,603 Asian American and Pacific Islander residents in the city of Myanmar, and we acknowledge their continued contributions to our city.

Uh, on behalf of Asian Post and Border Asian American Pacific Islander Community of South Florida, I'm humbled and honored to accept the proclamation of AAPI Heritage Month.

Tonight recognition that's not just symbolic, it's a deeply meaningful, meaningful, it tells us this history of our cultures and contribution of being seen or acknowledged and valued.

Asian Anupost is proud to serve a voice in the community, and a voice uh is not a story it's in its many.

Um it says the story of Filipino Americans carried toward pioneers Maria Barabeda, who founded Busopino News 1986, Florida, first Asian woman whole newspaper.

Uh, this is this uh story of Vietnamese American who have rebuilt flourish with grace.

It's uh story of Native Americans whose ancestral ties in the land of remind us of deeper roots and includes Jewish, Asian, uh, Palestinian Americans, Middle Eastern Americans, mixed race, Asian Americans, and those of many not always feel they have placed to a platform, but whose voice are matter profoundly.

Also, the last thing is that just last month we marked 132 of second anniversary of Chinese Merchant Association and remind us that the presidency is not new, it's enduring and it's evolving.

The City of Miramar City Commission held its regular meeting on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 7:00 PM in the Commission Chambers at 2300 Civic Center Place. Mayor Wayne M.   1. Temp. Reso. #R8418 – Juici Patties Lease Amendment: Ratified a first amendment to the 10-year lease for 2,400 sq. ft. retail space at 11735 City Hall Promenade. Administration requested a rent deferment starting June 1, 2025, and an additional $25,000 tenant improvement allowance (total TI $121,000). Tenant offered 10% discount to city employees and 15% to public safety employees. Owners Robert and Annette Kidd confirmed business is profitable. Passed unanimously.

  2. Temp. Reso. #R8386 – Country Club Ranches Watermain Phase 3: Awarded bid to D.B.E. Management, L.L.C. for $2,613,348, plus a $200,000 project allowance (total not to exceed $2,813,348). Phase 3 covers 37 lots, installing 12,000+ linear feet of watermain, 26 gate valves, 24 fire hydrants, and 37 meter boxes. Minimum 15% CBE/SBE participation required. Passed unanimously.

  3. Temp. Reso. #R8400 – Chen Moore & Associates Amendment No. 4: Approved $81,040 for construction engineering services for the same watermain project (Phase 3). Total contract with CMA now $1,106,620. Passed unanimously.

  1. Temp. Ord. #O1845 – Mural Art Land Development Code Amendment (2nd Reading): Amended Chapter 3, Section 324 to allow mechanically produced images and expand artist eligibility to up-and-coming artists. Guidelines include location within view of public right-of-way, permit review by Building/Planning/Zoning and Cultural Arts Director, and inspection. No changes from first reading. Passed unanimously.

  2. Temp. Ord. #O1841 – Capital Improvements Element Annual Review (2nd Reading): Updated Table 6.1 to reflect the five-year Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2025–2029, as required by Florida Statutes. No changes from first reading. Passed unanimously.
