And if so, who does it?

Because you know, some neighborhoods have it, some don't.

And people have asked me in the past, you know, can we do this?

So I think we need to provide some information on these things, whether or not it's something that we ought to try to encourage or not do at all.

You know, I think um I think you are required to have your address conspicuously displayed on the house.

On the house of the curb.

Um I I can tell you as a first responder, anything you can do to help identify that address because some of them have none.

And um, but anything that would speed up the response time from fire department or police and make sure we're going to the right address.

So it's it's legal to do, but I think what people are asking for, you know, does the city do this?

No, we don't, but can you do it?

Like I think Boy Scouts or somebody used to go around years ago and they would just paint the city.

I don't think the city has ever stopped somebody from painting the curb with the I mean to me it's a public safety issue.

So all right.

Yeah, um, I mean, well, you don't want it to look like a mess.

You need to have a stencil or something to make it look right.

I mean, that's what you generally see.

Somebody will go through the neighborhood and actually do it and make it look, you know, at least legible and nice and kind of consistent throughout.

Um, and I want to join in with my colleague.

Um, I do think we we need to make sure that our public safety, the MPD, I fire department is able to um see, yeah, yeah, uh that that information, um, the addresses.

Um, I know a lot of our communities, um, some of our communities don't have curve.

Um, so they have to put on their mailboxes or on the home.

Um, one of my concerns is also is making sure that we have street signs available.

Um, I I receive phone calls um from from people and say, hey, we're missing a street sign.

And I think that's something that we might have to look as um a city just from a public safety standpoint, um, making sure that our street signs are located um properly and they are put back up if it was an accident or something occurred um that we kind of check.

Um, and I don't know what the process is, checking on those things.

Is it the just from a citizen complaint?

Or do we actually um take moments where we go and make sure those things are in place?

Um, you know, again, we're indifferent to the curb painting because that that is a help to public safety.

But I think this is a great opportunity to remind people that they should conspicuously display their address on the house itself, so that when we shine those lights on the house, we know exactly which house we're going to.

But it'd be a great opportunity for that.

As to your point, not everybody has curves.

Um, I don't think we've ever went out and stopped anybody from painting the curb, but um anything that would improve response times is good for public safety.

What about the street signage piece?

Is um or we just waiting for residents to um complain that they're missing the street sign because of an accident or something occurred, or is that something that the city has in place that they they go verify that we have those streets?

I mean, if there's a missing street sign, one that's been knocked over, usually the police will turn in those reports, but 311 would be the right way.

I mean, we definitely want to make sure that we replace those signs.

And going back to the house numbers, isn't every homeowner required by law to have a number?

Yeah, that's that's what I thought.

Yeah, yes.

Not not everybody does it.

We're not out looking and checking trying to, but but it does slow response if you don't know the address.

You can't see the address.

I've had success getting neighborhoods uh to put the um numbers on the curb when they get organized, and you can allocate a little discretionary funds to the organization.

There are organization or groups that you can pay to come out, and they'll do it, and they'll do it up nice.

So that's a perfect use for discretionary funds in my opinion.

And then this 500,000 is going to cover like the exhibit build out.

This will be the exhibit.

They're also raising private funds for the maintenance of the exhibit.

And there's I think 300,000 that the county is putting in toward the exhibit as well.

Um, the the build out, as you said, will be in the lobby, the Dolphin Street side of the first floor of the RSA tower.

I I went to Montgomery several years ago and got together with Dr.

Bronner and his group.

And because my concern was being a native mobilian, I've seen an awful lot of museums and attractions and things that end up being these quagmires of continuous funding and overrun budgets and employees.

And so we wanted something that was self-sustaining, didn't have a whole bunch of expense affiliated with it.

So Dr.

Bronner graciously gave us in perpetuity the use of the lobby area, which is a huge area if you're familiar with it.

Uh he's covering the power bill, he's covering the security, he's covering everything.

So uh it'll be open 24 hours a day.

It'll be open 365 days a year.

It's going to be a free exhibit.

Um as the previous administration and now our current administration is recognized.

This is going to be the end of the beautiful new uh trail that we've built with the Hall of Fame.

President um one of course figures part we're excited to see about the pools but if you go back um we already are approving um on 21198 2199 and 21200 on regarding pools um I would ask my colleagues in consideration to let's approve all these pools together today so we can go move forward the time is is winding down we're getting you know it's gonna be we want to make sure we have these pools ready and prepare for our community so why not go on and and just approve um 21218 together with the rest of the pools well any uh reasoning for why this one was split off with the transfer of funds the funds were transferred so it was a little bit of a lag so the funds that came from um sage park feels we had some extra funds that was available um and so we we just had to transfer those funds so the money is there to complete this project Mr.

Reynolds I I don't have any objection to that I get it but do have a question these are a lot this is a lot of money and this is are these CIP dollars coming out of district CIP funds to to pay for all the they are okay good uh what what repairs are being made 36500 bucks yeah that's a lot of repair but but the other ones are expensive too yeah but yeah how many pools are you doing over here it would it would be two in my district um and it's two others that's on the I think one in yours well no no this one the 365 oh that oh that's just one pool that's it's just one pool but no but no it was one and then we have a um I got a kitty pool too so it's two pools over there in the area it's different from some of the the other sites it's different so it's different some are repair some are upgrades that need to happen we haven't done this in a very long time so we it's our motor systems it's all of that that we're doing we have a list and we can send that to you so you can know exactly what's being done at each pool.
