Uh next order of business is discussion and possible action related to the recruitment and possible appointment of a city of Monroe Chief of Police to uh assume the position after Chief Kelly's retirement, which is about six weeks off.

Um at our last meeting, um the commission kind of divided into two and two, plus we were augmented by I think four additional uh community uh members uh stakeholders uh uh to do interviews of the candidates for the position of uh chief of police following the interviews.

We got together with the interview panels and had a discussion, then we excused the uh community members and uh uh discuss the candidates and came to uh our uh decision on how to proceed uh with our recruitment.

We directed the city administrator to uh contact the two candidates and with the uh person we selected to finalize any um compensation package or other administrative matters, and she has reported that uh that has been accomplished.
