The Monroe Public Safety Committee met on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 5:15 PM in Council Chambers. - C.2 – Green County Fall Nationals Tractor/Truck Pull Special Event (September 12, 2026, ending at 11:59 p.m.): Annual event involving street closures, coordinated with police and fire without issues. Unanimous vote to recommend approval.
- C.3 – Green County House's Huber Bock Run Event (September 19, 2026, 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.): Semi-annual run associated with Cheese Days, requiring a road closure. Recommended unanimously to the Common Council.
- C.4 – Purchase and Installation of Radar Feedback Signs: Discussion focused on excessive speeding near the new high school area. Police conducted stealth radar surveys confirming high speeds. Two portable, solar-powered, programmable signs (15-inch displays) to be placed on 32nd and 31st Avenues at a total cost of $11,927. Signs can record speed data (including stealth mode) and are Bluetooth compatible. The committee voted unanimously to recommend purchase to the Common Council.
- C.5 – Addition of Stop Signs on 4th Street Due to New Road Construction: New road construction from 22nd to 25th Avenue. Proposed stop control at the 22nd Avenue intersection: southbound stop and east/westbound stop, with northbound through traffic. Aimed at slowing traffic and pedestrian safety. Unanimous recommendation to the Common Council.

C one discussion and possible recommendation of common council for the Monroe Rural Fire District's Pancake Breakfast Event. So this is would be taking place on October October 4th from 7 a.m. to noon. This is their annual fundraiser that they hold. They'll be busying people to and from the Swiss Colony parking lot. It's kind of shown on the map there. But this is an annual event that they hold. And there was no issues from the police or fire department about it. Any questions? I make a motion. So this is also another annual event. This will be taking place on September 12th and kind of ending just on the 12th, but they have 1159 PM. Once again, this is their annual event. There are some street closures involved with it, and I know they've worked kind of worked that out with the PD and the fire department. They didn't have any issues for it. Move approval.
