Anyone wishing to address the committee virtually may join the meeting online at HTTP colon backslash backslash mountain view dot zoom dot us slash J slash eight two eight eight four five seven eight eight eight nine or by dialing six six nine nine zero zero nine one two eight and entering webinar ID eight to eight eight four five seven eight eight eight nine when the chair announces the item on which you which you wish to speak the range hand feature in zoom or dial nine on your phone or star nine on your phone when the chair calls your name to provide public comment if you are participating via phone please our six to unmute yourself please staff do the roll call of course chairperson donagen here vice chair fentanyl here committee member bargois here committee member crone committee member garcia um moving along to minutes approval 3.1 minutes approval recommendation approved the June 24th 2026 performing arts committee meeting minutes the minutes are attached do we have any additions or comments on the minutes some reason I can't find my notes from the previous meeting like sorry we cleaned them out oh okay asked all right we should have left the last maybe last one I only don't have my notes either but my recollection for um item five one in our prior meeting is that uh the motion was actually um as amended because we may have we made changes during the work plan we can find a couple of items there was yeah we did we did uh draft work plan proof the measure work plan as amended to be forwarded to city council as amended is missing got it something don't recall for that felt like we had to restate it a few times to get the board in so I think there might be a meeting on the what one yes because D had an um idea of how you wanted to collect events under kind of community development and then yeah we separated we had them as separate items like one two three and we made it like two a to be received right but I my recollection is we had to rephrase the motion it wasn't as simple as as amended we kind of said as amended to something like we we worked on at the wording the motion a little bit as a committee before we got what we liked but that's so I'm not sure that only is adding the word ad amended we'll recaptures that but I I would have to go back and listen to the vote.

Yes, but I'm wrong, I mean, but I think we had quite a bit of discussion on that work.

So no, I did, but then I know we I remember we did, but then I think we we agreed to the changes, and then we made a motion.

What I would say, but I'll read all of them the recording.

My record we like as amended so that there was a little more deep to the the motion.

That's my recollection.

Uh moving on to five to new business 5.1 review and approve resident company questions recommendation the committee will review and approve resident company questions and then attachments wrap resident agenda questions.

Probably and we can go section by section.

Okay, so um first is programming.

Question one is are there any current or upcoming changes in programming direction that we you would like to share with the committee?

What recent advances have your programs achieved, and what setbacks did you encounter?

What structural changes are you implementing to evolve your programming and enhance audience engagement?

I had a thought on number one uh in programming direction.

Should we include education or outreach?

Any singing instead of just focusing on programming direction, should we also ask about the outreach?

Can you let's cover collaboration?

That's true.

I made these notes at home as I was reading through it before I finished the whole thing.

But I did have a thought as well.

Um this ongoing info when we talked about this a little bit before and the last set of resident company presentations.

One of the some of the feedback I recall hearing from the committee is some people did the things out of order um in their presentations.

I don't know if that can just be like an attachment of like someone from Mount View City saying please do it in order as a the jumping around for I can't remember which company makes it hard to follow.

Made it hard to follow.

Uh-huh.

Like where, like, oh, suddenly they're talking about financial, but not now we're back to programming, and so kind of where makes um I think also with the please answer questions as they apply.

Um sound like you can give questions, and is that our intent that they can get questioned?

Or do we want them to answer all the questions to the best of your ability?

Yes, that would be because it'd be fair to other sentences, right?

And they could say this doesn't apply.

Yeah, question one B doesn't apply or something of some sort, but uh that would be it when I read that intro, it's like sounds like I know we're not trying to ask people to be perfect, but it kind of like maybe don't feel like you don't have a good answer, you could also just skip the question, maybe well, I think part of the reason that this is the way it is, which I mean we're free to change, is that the there's a big differences between the resident companies that we have.

And so the teen theat theater company is you know, a small operation.

Maybe this doesn't all apply to them.

But um I like your point that as they apply also sort of gives tacit approval to skip things if you don't want to answer, right?
