Meeting Transcript

Good evening. We have a uh exciting evening uh here as uh we begin uh pre-council, and so it's not a formalized meeting at this point, it's just uh a gathering, and just wanna allow everybody to uh be here and know that uh the support is there, and uh So Shar Tim, our city clerk is going to swear in Darl Bruner as mayor. I I told her uh I said how family how much hand holding I would be needing, she said, No, I'm just gonna kick you when I'm wise to know who the Bible is. Okay, I have my family up here behind. Oh I'm not gonna give a bunch of names, but uh I'm so proud. Of course, my wife here, Paula, and we had our fifty year wedding anniversary last Friday. Those of you that know me really good know she has been a very tolerant individual. And this is my daughter, and her husband and three grandkids, and guess what? We have a little piece of heaven on earth, because they live right next door to us. Okay, and this is the Bible. I already have two. And directors and and of course the police department and so on. This city is in good hands, and as long as I listen and follow up all a lot of their direction and Clay Long, the chief of staff. I uh I boy, I've been impressed. And he's gonna do a lot of the administrative things that Rick wanted him to do when he was in office. So uh prayer please pray for this city and uh for the future because this is too uh too great a place to uh have a lot of division. And as I've I pointed to so many times, our distinction here in Nap Idaho is in God you trust. He's a sovereign God, and we're gonna keep uh keep him leading leading the city as long as my time, and I'm sure uh whoever else the new mayor is. But uh Pastor, if you wouldn't mind coming up, Grand for this. God, it's not just momentous for Mayor Gahl and Paula and the rest of the family. This is momentous for the city of Napa. And Father, we're so thankful for the resilience of this great city. We've been through a lot the last several months. The loss of a man that we loved and will always cherish and honor, Mayor Rick Hogabohum. But we're here after a long process to swear in, Darl, he's taken the oath, and God, I believe that you're gonna be with him. You're gonna help him. Amen. I pray for wisdom, for courage, for integrity, for clarity in the days ahead. I pray for his team. I pray for the staff, I pray for uh for Clay. Thank you for that we have an incredible guy like Clay that's the chief of staff here. I thank you for the team that's around in my uh the city's in great hands. I thank you for our city council. I appreciate each person that is on the city council and what they bring to the table. But God, while I pray for our city council, I pray for our mayor, I pray for the team, but God, I pray for our city. This is your city, and we want you to be Lord, and we pray that you would give us strength and help in the days ahead. May we live up to who you have called us to be and what I know we're capable of, and may we be a place of of justice, of fairness, a great place to live, and for what you're going to do to all of us, we pray this with great anticipation, you're gonna do it in Jesus' name.
