I'm the public art coordinator for the City of Napa, and I'm going to present for you the second suite street pavement art corridor public art project.

So pavement art has been used by cities across the world to create visual and physical interventions in roadways, and then this helps to create safer, brighter, and more welcoming streets for residents and visitors alike.

Um the second street pedestrian scramble public art project was approved by the public art steering committee and city council in 2022.

And um since then the city has partnered with Public Works and the Downtown Napa property and brusin improvement district to expand this project to include five additional intersections.

And you'll see the site plan in just a few slides that show that the five additional intersections are four-way intersections, and the pedestrian scramble is a three-way intersection.

So the three-way intersection will have an artwork that corresponds to the pedestrian scramble, and the four-way intersections will have artistic curb bulbouts.

So together these two public art projects are intended to increase roadway safety and create a public art intervention to energize the streets for residents and visitors alike.

So the project goals of the pavement art corridor are to create an exciting, appealing, and harmonious public environment by integrating art into public spaces to increase safety for roadway users, be site-specific and original, and attract and showcase qualified and diverse artists.
