Uh 2561, which is a new law that passed uh recently that requires um all agencies do a presentation, um, giving an update on vacancies for the organization.

Now we've been doing this since I came to the city um given that the city had uh balanced the budget deficit related to COVID a lot on vacancies.

We've been doing regular updates on vacancies, um, but this new law puts some specific requirements around those updates, um, including giving the bargaining units an opportunity to um be a part of that presentation, so we'll be notifying all the bargaining units of that um of that presentation an opportunity to um to come and make a presentation as well, but it also gives some specific things that we need to do.

Um it also states that if any of the bargaining units are over 20% vacancy, it adds in some additional requirements.

We're not in that position, so we don't um trigger those requirements, but just wanted to give the commission an update that we will be doing that if you're interested in listening and it does require that we do that before the budget's adopted each year, so it'll be a new requirement annually that I'll be doing um each year before the budget's adopted.
