An item, we will now hear a report from staff on item 5A, which is election of officers, chair and vice chair for the August 2025 to July 2026 year.

So as a reminder, we're bringing this item back from last month.

And the recommendation is that we the staff recommends the commission to elect a chair and vice chair of the commission following today's meeting to serve through the first meeting in July of 2026 per civil service rule 11A2.

Just a little more background, almost a year to the date, last August 19th, 2024.

The commission elected Commissioner Mason to serve as chair and Commissioner Riesenberg to serve as vice chair.

Chair Mason and Vice Chair Riesenberg have been serving their roles since this election was held in 24.

And the continuation of the July meeting was for was for the selection of officers.

So I will hand it back to the commission for that election.

I have an interest uh but more driven by um it's my turn than by uh desire.

Um yeah, I spoke with Joy and she uh is not, she's pretty busy right now, and so it's not a good time for her.

Uh Ashley and any interest in vice chair.

I could I mean I could describe it as a willingness.

Well, I, you know, seeing I guess what I'm uh gonna share is I I did ask for a history of our service, and if we kind of rotate back to service in 2022 and 23, uh, we had Chair Ashley Halliday and Vice Chair Ryan Fitzgerald, and I think going back in that rotation is a good good turn, all in turn.

We will move on to item six C, the recruitment status report.

Um, and I will ask Caitlin if you can please provide us an update.

Of course, so this past Friday we held phone interviews for our senior planner recruitment in our community development department, and we'll be holding in-person interviews next week for senior planner, and then later this week we'll be doing some more phone interviews for our budget analyst position.

And also earlier today we held a mandatory info session for our recreation coordinator positions in our parks and rec department.

We're hoping to fill three vacancies in this one recruitment, and then tomorrow we'll be out at Napa Valley College again.

We're holding another physical agility test for our police officer trainee recruitment, and we'll be doing interviews for that recruitment in early September.

And then our most exciting update, I think, is earlier this month.

Our recruitment team, our other recruiter Fernando, he joined our police department for national night out.

So we were we had a recruitment booth and we did some community outreach, and it sounded like it was a great turnout.

Um, and then just some other quick updates.

We are currently accepting applications right now for water distribution supervisor, which closes later this week on Friday.

So before you is the recommendation to receive the expiration of three lists within the police department, one management analyst classification, police officer trainee, and public safety dispatcher call taker.

This resulted in one hire for the management analyst, two hires for police officer trainee, and one hire for the call taker.

So those are the expiring lists.
