Tonight we are here to honor the McGavick High School Wrestling Team with a proclamation.

Uh we had a very successful season uh that involves one state champion uh from District 14.

Uh and I've got my colleagues from Donaldson Hermanage Old Hickory with me that are gonna help me with this.

Whereas the McGavic High School Wrestling Team participated in the 2024 State Wrestling Championship and demonstrated outstanding dedication, skill, and discipline throughout the season.

And whereas 11th grader Hale Cox, a star in the 132-pound category, showed exceptional talent with a record of 29 and one.

Haley won both uh Tullahoma and Rossview tournaments and was a runner-up in the individual girls regional tournament.

Haley won state and only gave up one whole point in the tournament.

And whereas Addison Brown, Khalise Stansby, Matty Allen, Bailey Garrett, Halai Cox, Selena Rodriguez, Dakota Butler, and Alay McGelly worked together to achieve an impressive 11-4 record.

The team secured a third place finish at the girls' regional duels and qualified three athletes to the state tournament with two placing.

And whereas Emmanuel Sonic Claybrooks, Azaiah Calvin, Xavier Cox, Matheus Zulk Volkart, and Eli Summer also showcased remarkable talent and determination this season.

They earned a district runner-up position and qualified five athletes to both the sectionals and state tournaments with Emmanuel Claybrooks placing fifth, Xavier Cox sixth, and Matthews Volkhart sixth.
