Today's uh July 2nd, and we do have a presentation.

It's a resolution IRS 2024 dash 440 by Consulmember Tasha Ellis.

Councilmember Ellis, you recognize thank you, Madam President.

If all of the uh staff from the Register of Deeds office will come up, and if you all would spread out around this side so that we can see you on all the cameras.

A resolution congratulating the Davidson County Register of Deeds office for being recognized as one of Nashville Business Journal's best places to work in 2024.

Whereas the Davidson County Register of Deeds Office has a mission to provide accurate recording of public records for all who use the register's office and a goal of providing excellent customer service and convenient access to these records utilizing the latest technology in an effective, cost efficient, and customer friendly way.

And whereas this year, the Nashville Business Journal has named the Davidson County Register of Deeds office as one of the best places to work.

And we'reas this is the second time the Davidson County Register of Deeds office has received this honor in the past five years, and whereas this recognition is given to local employers based on nominations in a confidential survey of their employees and whereas the employee survey measures 10 key engagement categories, including team effectiveness, trust in senior leaders, and manager effectiveness, and whereas it is fitting and proper for the Metropolitan Council to acknowledge the success of Register of Deeds, Karen Y.

Johnson and her staff on this recognition.

Now therefore, be it resolved by the council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

That the Metro Town Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as congratulating the Davidson County Register of Deeds office for being recognized as one of Nashville Business Journal's best place to work in 2024.

The Metropolitan Council further goes on record as acknowledging the success of the Register of Deeds.

You see, I'm sweating.

What are we?

The office has the best office ever.

So let's say that again.

But thank you to the esteemed uh members of the Metro Council, our mayor Freddie O'Connell, uh, who also sent over a proclamation as well.

And we're looking forward uh to you all coming to our open house as soon as we get everything finished for our new office, but we work incredibly hard each and every day, and we thank you for this recognition.

It means a lot.

Uh the staff, everyone here is just here because they're excited that finally they're acknowledged for the incredible amount of work that they do every day.

Thank you, Council Lady Zolfat, President Pro Tim, Zolfat Surara, and all of the council members here tonight.

We thank you for your tireless work in our city.

And we're here to serve you in whatever capacity that you so choose.

So I'm gonna turn it over to now the chief deputy register attorney, Jack Brown.

Thank you all again for this uh great uh award that y'all have recognized tonight.

Uh I want to thank y'all also for approving our new lease and our new space, which is across the street.

And uh I want to thank the staff.

We got the greatest staff in the world.

Uh we're a team, we work together.

Uh we get through the hard stuff and we uh provide great public service to the people of Nashville and Davidson County.

Uh some of our people have been here 25, 20 um or more years, and we recognize those people.

They've been public servants, uh helping the people in Nashville for for a long time.

And uh, but our staff is great.

We're a team, we're a family.

Uh, and it's so nice uh when you're recognized based upon the opinions of your staff and certainly our fearless leader Karen Johnson uh has is out there fighting for us every day to make us the best places to work, and uh she's got our back.

I want to also thank our staff for putting up with our uh conditions that we're working in currently.

We're currently in the basement with temporary air conditioning across the street.

Uh but when we get finally get finished, hopefully by October 1st or thereabouts, uh, we're gonna have everybody over and have a big party.

So thanks again, and we really appreciate it.

We don't want to forget my council lady, council lady Tasha Ellis.
