The Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County held its 18th regular meeting on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in the Metropolitan Courthouse. The meeting included confirmations, nominations, public hearings on numerous zoning and other items, and passage of a consent agenda. Key actions included the reappointment of Joycelyn Stevenson to the Airport Authority, passage of an adaptive residential ordinance, and deferral of several items.

Uh wanna let constituents in District 13 know that this Sunday at 9 a.m. Our beautification commissioner will be hosting a beautification event at Glenview Elementary. The plan is to help pick up a litter, um, spruce up some of the flower beds in the area. I just want to remind people that tomorrow night will be fireworks in Antioch at Mill Ridge Park. We're having food trucks and a DJ from 7 to 10. Fireworks will be at 9 p.m. Parking is in the Cane Ridge High School parking lot. Um at 8 a.m. Uh, it'll end at 9 30 a.m. And this particular uh office hours uh we'll have uh our last at large member, Olivia Hill. Um we will be having a memorial guiding uh for Dr. James Lawson on July 17th at 6 p.m. It will be uh on the front lawn of the Diane Nash Plaza. Uh the John Louise Way committee decided that in lieu of a match this year, that we just wanted to do a guide drain. And so everyone is invited. Uh it will be a remembrance for both John Lewis and Lawson. Uh 17 is the anniversary of John Lewis' death, and then you all know we just lost uh Reverend Lawson. His funeral is actually this weekend uh in uh California.
