Uh differently off the start because we have a very special occasion to celebrate.

And so you can go ahead and get in the queue if you do have an announcement subsequent, and Pro Tem Suara will be back up here on the dais uh for your announcements.

Um, but uh to get started, um, we have a presentation of a proclamation.

I would ask all council members if you would please remain seated, and if Miss Roseanne Hayes Shacklet and her family and our uh staff would come to the podium.

So uh council members, if council members, if you will please stay in your seats, and our staff is gonna our staff is gonna circle around Miss Rosie, um, as is her family.

And then we'll have a photo opportunity afterwards, okay.

So, Miss Rosie, you just go ahead and come and stand at the podium because you are you are the star.

Okay.

Staff, colleagues, and members of council hold Rosie in high esteem due to her work ethic, her willingness to help everyone, and her longstanding commitment to public service.

And whereas Rosie is known for her positivity and dedication, she is a consummate professional and an exemplary mother, wife, sister, friend, mentor, and chief of staff.

And whereas this milestone is not just a testament to her dedication to public service, but also a reflection of the impact that she has had on our community.

And whereas Rosie's institutional knowledge of Metro Council and Metro government is unparalleled, and some of her stories would make a very good read.

And whereas it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council extends to Rosie our sincere and grateful appreciation for her dedicated commitment to the Metro Council office and to the citizens of Nashville and Davidson County.

We celebrate her incredible legacy and look forward to many more years of public service.

Now, therefore, we, the undersigned council members, and the vice mayor of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County do hereby recognize and congratulate Roseanne Hayes Shacklet on 50 years of public service and wish her continued success, happiness, and good health in the years to come.

I there's not enough words I can say that I'm so appreciative of I can't talk, but everything that y'all have done for me this last 50 years and um the weekend has been tremendous with my daughter and my husband and all of the people that attended our party.

Uh uh thank you.

Um, and the ones that couldn't, I thank you for being a part of it anyway.

But thank you for everything you've done for me, and thank you for this evening, and I appreciate you all and uh y'all are uh my family friends, and I want to continue that for a long time.

Uh we are going to be having a district 23 uh community meeting this Thursday at 6:30 at Brook Hall of Baptist.

Uh, we're gonna be discussing the transit plan, uh the Brook Hollow uh traffic calming project, uh property taxes next year, and several other things.

Um, I wanted to uh give notice of something a little bit far in advance.

On Friday, September 27th at 6:30 in Polk Theater at T Pack.

There will be a show put on by Friends Life Community.

They support individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in Davidson County.

This was a production that has been worked on very diligently and with passion by the folks at Friends Life.

And I encourage everyone to check out the link on T Pac's website and try and make it to this performance.

It's uh it will bring the audience through a journey of better understanding the personal perspective of the artists with disabilities, while also realizing that they have the same story, but just maybe with a few different details.
