New Albany City Council Meeting - May 14, 2026

Staff Reports
- Bill reported no items for the week.
- Wesley provided a summary of construction site issues: gun silk fencing repair (site unclear), repair of storm drains that were unprotected, and a request for fencing around those drains. He noted they are still waiting on Wild Walls to submit their construction insurance, but most other items have been resolved.
- Ed presented the April financial report, explaining that the first two months of the fiscal year will be in the old accounting system and the remaining ten in the new software. He reported that operations are on budget: revenue is about one percent above budget, expenses about one percent below budget. The checking account balance was stated as current.

Okay, we're good. Good to go. Alright, let's go ahead and get the meeting called to order and start with pledge of meetings. United States in America. Under God. Indivisible. Liberty and just the first order of business would be to review our minutes from our April 23rd meeting. Make a motion to approve them as presented. I would second that. I'll be able to motion aye. Aye. Aye. Opposed? No. So amendments have been approved. Any communications from the public. Looks like that's a no. So we're going to pretty good, yes. Communications from city officials. You none at this time. Going down to our staff reports, Bill. Have you got a report for us? I have no reporting this week for y'all. Okay. Wesley, have you got anything to record? I didn't give a submitted that last week, but I got some if you want. Yeah, you can summarize it if you want to. Oh, without a computer a couple of days, we were in the boot, so I thought that's okay. Uh we had some gun silk fencing out of pain poll. We've asked more repair. Uh we had a few storm drainings that weren't protected. Uh we've asked them to take care of that, put some so fencing up around it. And we're still waiting on wild walls to put a wire into their construction insurance, but they got most everything else taken care of out there. Very good. Thank you for that report. All right, Ed uh, you get a report for us or anything on the something here. The uh financial report is just for the month of April. Uh we're gonna tie the new numbers, but all the line items. Um we're gonna have the first two months will be in the old numbers, and then the last ten months will be in uh the new setup for all of the software for the city. So once I get the routine pulled together, then I'll have the truth report today, it's just the April. And as far as our operation goes, we're right on the budget, like one percent above under revenue percent. Uh below budget under expense. So the checking account right now. Very good.
