The New Albany Flood Control District Board of Commissioners held its monthly meeting on June 9, 2026, at 9:00 AM in the Council Chambers of New Albany City Hall. The meeting covered routine approvals, a director's report on river conditions and maintenance, and the approval of claims.
Good morning. Call over to the June 9th, 2026 meeting of the new Albany Flight Control District Board of Commissioners. Again, with approval of minutes. Make a motion to approve. Second. Not a ton of updates this month for the record. Rivers currently at 13.8 feet. And it's been a wild month for the river. Jumped about 20 feet to 40 feet in the middle of the month, tail end of the month, and bottom right back out. So avoided any high water outside of some mud here and there on the boat rings and creek and whatnot, but we'll get all that cleaned up. Preparations for 4th of July celebration are underway as well as just regular seasonal maintenance. Taking the day as an opportunity to do some flood training with the rain and the flash flooding that's expected, so we're out turning gates and kind of running the system while we got some water on it. Bathroom maintenance and repairs are underway, expected to be wrapped up within the next month. Outside of that, it's just general seasonal maintenance, mulling weeding, trimming, keeping up with things, making sure everything looks good for the public.
