Public Comments & Testimony
- David McGowan, a resident who said he lives by Slate Run Road, expressed concern that the Slate Run/Charlestown Road signal project could become a 'cluster' and asked why it was not planned for summer school recess. He also reported large potholes in the Take 5 Car Wash parking lot at State and Daisy Lane, saying Take Five says the landlord is responsible. Board members responded that it is a private lot and directed him to the Planning and Zoning office on the second floor (Room 200) to ask about maintenance requirements.

Meeting Transcript
Good morning. Sheet. Oh, you can sign in or call and delay it to week. Um, Mr. Winlock contacted me, said that he wasn't gonna be able to make it after all. Um he wanted to place a twenty-yard dumpster on the street at nineteen Robin Road for no more than a week to haul off concrete from an old slab in his backyard. He's going to use ICA, and he would like to have the dumpster delivered on August fourteenth. So we've got a great day tall and also Vicky did he say. That it would crack the driveway. So it damaged the street. Oh, is he? Yeah, so I yeah, his driveway wouldn't work. Yep. Second. All those in favor, signify by saying aye. Aye. Aye. Aye. Don't oppose multi carriers. Jeremy Shumay. Jeremy, how are you saying? Good morning, board. I am Jeremy Schumate. This is uh Ted Newton tomorrow. Uh what we're asking for is a uh approval of a maintenance of traffic plan for the uh traffic signal modernization project at Charlestown Road and Slate Run. We'd like to uh us in Mac Construction would like to begin work uh this next Monday, which I believe is the 14th 17th, sorry. Uh working from uh begin at 7 a.m. I think along in your your packet theory, um there's different phases and different MOT plans as prepared by um uh uh United Consulting, the consultant for the project uh for different phases of the project, and also a uh pedestrian detour uh plan as well. And the reason for that detour is there's gonna be a concrete median or I guess you could call it that concrete median added to uh to slate run as part of this project. So now it just calls for any closure, it's just it'll all be open the whole time and they'll closure slate run over Charlestown Road. Correct. We did a closure flagging just all the wires or the signals across the road and be five, ten minutes by emergency services beforehand, but yeah, it was I went over the uh maintenance of traffic with uh United during the design process, and uh they had a few things that I had them modified to make it more uh workable for the the residents and the the folks that are used uh slate run road. Um but overall uh with it with it, I think only has a lane shift at uh there uh at the intersection or one of those lanes is um closed for a short time, but I I don't believe that the um it will impede the traffic on a regular basis, so it should be able to continue to move. Are you all able to work outside of with the school there on slate run road, like kind of avoid the high traffic times at the beginning of the day and during the afternoon during dismissal, so to not add to the congestion? Yeah, a lot of those, uh a lot of the traffic opposite direction, but yes. We should be working behind the closure should be interfering in traffic a little bit. What hours are you guys can work? What's your hours? Uh seven five, Monday and Friday. So the signal work, you're saying it's not going to impact traffic. So that won't bother school morning when they start school and the evening when they let out, that's not going to be impacted by this. But what about the construction of that media? You're putting a median in, right? Also in the middle. Yeah, so we're the MVP's design that we work on the inside of the closure without traffic. Probably need to make it. So when will that typical for what we normally do for when school is now when that's nine and three? When will that start and how many did how many days will the road be closed? We're looking at an overall project duration of two months. For all three days, it's how long will the road be closed though?
